The journal "Marine" published by the Association of officers of Reserve Officers of the Navy (Acoram) publishes a long record of Western involvement in Afghanistan. You can read the entire 26 pages here.

La revue "Marine" éditée par l'Association des officiers des officiers de réserve de la Marine nationale(Acoram) publie dans un long dossier sur l'engagement occidental en Afghanistan. On peut lire l'intégralité des 26 pages en cliquant ici.
On lira notamment l'entretien exceptionnel, réalisé par Bertrand de Lesquen, avec un capitaine de vaisseau des commandos, qui vient de quitter de la Marine. L'officier a notamment été l'un des commandants du groupement des forces spéciales Arès, en 2006. Interrogé sur l'absence du COS (commandement des opérations spéciales) d'Afghanistan, l'officier explique : "Je regrette que nous n'ayons pas de forces spéciales sous mandat Otan. (...) Il n'y a pas en Afghanistan que du combat d'infanterie. Le fait d'être absent risque de nous singulariser aux yeux de nos partenaires de l'Otan, mais de manière plus préoccupante d'induire une perte de savoir-faire et de compétence qui pourrait hypothèquer l'avenir."
A Spin Bildak, puis à Jalalabad, les opérations spéciales s'articulaient autour de trois axes : "recherches de renseignement par le biais de petites équipes infiltrées sur des points d'observation, conduites de patrouilles à pied ou motorisées permettant de dispenser l'aide médicale, de collecter des informations, mais surtout d'affirmer notre présence et de rassurer les populations, et enfin sur renseignement, l'organisation d'opérations destinées à intercepter les éléments talibans". Sur ce dernier point, l'officier précise toutefois que qu'en 2006, les grandes opérations lancées par l'Isaf dans le sud et l'engagement américain en Irak "ont réduit notre disponibilité en hélicoptères et ce faisant les opportunités d'opérations".
A côté de cet entretien, on pourra lire également une interview de l'amiral italien Gianpaolo di Paola, président du comité militaire de l'Otan, qui reconnait que la situation militaire dans le pays est "difficile et complexe", un article d'Alain Chouet, un ancien directeur à la DGSE, qui estime que "les causes du terrorisme international ne sont pas en Afghanistan" , une analyse "terrienne" du général Cann, ou un entretien avec Thierry Mariani , représentant spécial de la France pour l'Afghanistan et le Pakistan. Enfin un débat entre Renaud Girard, grand reporter au Figaro... et le pacha de Secret-Défense. Sur la base de constats communs, Renaud Girard pense qu' "on est contraint et forcé à la réussite" et moi-même qu'"il faut préparer vite et bien les conditions d'un retrait".
