French special forces soldiers have joined forces with their British counterparts to take on Islamic State.

French special forces have been deployed in Syria alongside British elite troops and US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces to take on the Islamic State, it has been revealed.

The Associated Press reported that the French special forces are offering training and advice to fighters in northern Syria, quoting an unnamed official. "We are helping with arms, we are helping with aerial support, we are helping with advice," French Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian commented last week.

British troops have crossed numerous times from the Hashemite kingdom of Jordan into Syria where they have bolstered the defence of the village, which has repeatedly been threatened by IS.

The settlement, strategically positioned at a crossroads in Syria between Iraq and Jordan, was overrun by IS in March. However, New Syrian Army forces, trained and equipped by the US and its allies and part of an ill-fated Pentagon attempt to create a moderate armed Syrian opposition, retook al-Tanf in March.

One New Syrian Army fighter, a defector from Bashar al-Assad's Special Forces, told the Times that British troops had come from Jordan to help build defences.

In February, French officials had to quash reports that their special forces were engaged fighting against IS in Libya. However, unnamed Libyan security sources told the Arabic language media that French commandos had fought alongside Libyan government forces in eastern city Benghazi.

Syria is not a functioning state for a while now, reason the U.N.S.C, P5 powers have all agreed for world powers to intervene using all means necessary against Islamic terrorist group ISIS, since the syrian government cant even protect itself forget about its people which it has been killing as far as they opppose butcher Assad. So go blame the U.N lol

Syrians(not the U.S, U.K or France) revolted against the Assad dynasty, and they were gunned down/massacred for doing so, by the dictator Assad just so he can stay in power. He like many other African/middle eastern dictators would rather destroy their countries than cede power.
If anything western powers like U.S, France and Britain were very reluctant to intervene in Syria, but as the situation there got worse , they were left with no choice. If this butcher dictator had cede power like Tunisia's and Egypt president did, we wouldnt be having civil war in Syria today. But because of one man's greed and his obssession for power here we are.
He is even lucky we now consider ISIS a bigger threat than his tyranic regime, else we would have. removed him long ago.
Don't also forget that this Assad dictator supported radical Islamic terrorist groups against U.S and British forces in Iraq thereby destabilising the country and Killing tens of thousands of iraqi civilians in suicide bombings/fueling sectarian wars in the country.
