I don't think INS Vikramaditya will be in the exercise. Currently She is going under refitment.

A MASSIVE blunder if it is true the Viramditya isn't gogin to take place in this series of EXs, how often will they get an opportunity to operate alongside one of the finest warships in service today?

The French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, engaged since February 23 in the operations of the international coalition against the Islamic state group completed its mission and left the Gulf yesterday.

The ship, with on its board 12 Rafale and 9 Super Etendard who took part in the airstrikes against the IE in Iraq, took the way to Goa, India, to conduct manoeuvers with the Indian naval aviation.

The maneuvers come as Delhi has announced the acquisition of 36 aircraft Rafale and wants to negotiate with the French government purchasing additional devices.

In eight weeks in the Persian Gulf, the aircrafts on the Charles de Gaulle have "realized daily from 10 to 15 combat sorties" to "support the Iraqi security forces engaged on the ground" against the jihadists, according to the French army staff.

Which warships from India side will be involved in the exercise? I am assuming Ins Viraat will be one of them as Ins Vikramaditya is being equipped with Barak-1 and CIWS and thus not available right now.

Is the catapult system origin in ur AC indigenous or US origin?

The ship can operate a fleet of up to 40 aircraft: Rafale M (range 3,340km), Super Etendard (range 1,682km) and three E-2C Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft. The ship will also support the AS 565 Panther or NH 90 helicopter.
The main deck consists of a main runway angled at 8.5° to the ship's axis and an aircraft launch area forward of the island. These are each equipped with a USN Type C13 catapult, capable of launching one aircraft a minute. The runway is 195m long and the whole deck measures 260m x 64m. The carrier is fitted with the Sagem Defense Sécurité (formerly EADS Defence & Electronics) DALAS laser landing aid.

From Indian side, aircraft carrier INS Viraat, destroyer INS Mumbai, stealth frigate INS Tarkash, guided missile frigate INS Gomati, replenishment tanker INS Deepak, submarine INS Shankul and a few Fast Attack Craft are participating in the exercise.

So ultimately we need US backing for a catapult carriers.

More than that, since we will be even more dependent on the US than the French. Our carrier already has US engines, our carrier is likely to get catapults only with US fighters, our carrier is likely to operate US ASW helicopters and on top of that, we will operate US AEW aircrafts, like the French do. So the catapults comes with a big pack limitiations and the Navy might end up too dependent on the US.

Is there any other source or any chance of indigenous development of catapult system?

How's Chinese gonna do about it? only ski jump carriers?
