French Army soldiers march in India, at Republic Day 2016!

@Vauban France is the only real friend of India in the entire Europe.She was even helpful in the colonial times.

But honestly speaking I'm bit disappointed with this French march.It may be you guys don't take this marching drama too seriously.

Look at Right lead of armed troop in this video, He was not only out of sync but he was looking like walking in the Park . Sorry for negative comment but I had high expectations.

As for the expectations, do consider the pace thing ... and those limping might be on account of the
anti-terror exercise they had just completed with elite squads of your guys. The musicians did not limp.
Trust me if you did not do it, a limping bunch after a real qualification course / class is quite normal.

I watched your countrymen's march with pride. To be honest they were not that impressive but not that bad either. Hollande seemed to be happy with their performance.

Partially agree,but generally in France it takes weeks and months to prepare to the 14th july parade,whereas these soldiers came to an exercise and were told at the last minute that they'll be parading in your national day. They just planned to exercise and to go back to France. Must consider also that they paraded in a different way that they use to do in France.

That 'walk' type of march is also evident in US military. And it looks less rigid but is similar to the way the French marched.

Not all marches are like the way we march in the subcontinent. For example, we would never see Indian troops doing the Russian / North Korean high kick march.

Do Indians, do respect the French contingent instead of criticising them.

This time everything was expedited because of new protocols and security threats especially after ISIS targeted your country. Your President was on the target list most probably which is why the officials didn't want to take risk.

I agree with you,the most important thing is that they paraded at your national's day in a sign of strong friendship between the Indians and the French. It was an honor to be the first army to participe in that parade. And glad that during Shakti2016 the two armies could work together and learned each other's experience.

I think it's a bit unfair to criticise the French marching contingent as a) compared to the Indian units they had only a few days to prepare in Delhi (perhaps they prepared at their home bases as the Indian units would have been doing for months) and b) they had to adopt an entirely different style to marching that they have not practiced during their entire careers (a higher tempo- 120 bps IIRC) so as to match the Indian Military marching pattern and to stick to the very strict timing.

Watch this video, it outlines in some detail the amount to planning/training that goes into this event, where they use seconds, not minuets to measure success:

I appreciate that French soldiers were part of our Republic Day and wish strongly that in July we should have a full contingent out there with you guys for Bastille day parade.

One thing i have to point out here
We need good cameras and very good official pictures.
Have a look at this picture above. Doordarshan needs to invest big time on this. Look at the COLORS and background. Even we have very colorful contingents but rarely we get high HD quality pics.

Notice the difference in vibrancy of colors. This is inspite this being a good sunny day in 2013.

If you see basically Indian Republic day had more Red tint vs French Blue Tint like temperatures Hot and Cold. The effects on pics and colors make a difference between the two.

This is from getty images. See the colors and the red blue . got cold effect i said before.. Getty temperatures have that effect bcz of which the pic quality and outcome looks much better.

Look at the colors so vibrant. Yet we have not been able to get the best effect on the pic to highlight it further with crystal clear precision

I undertand that mate. I am no way critisizing the french contingent. I was just being honest about how I felt about Fench marching style. My sincere appologies if I have offened you.
