It would be rolled out in phases .... First one provience and then improved then two provience ... etc.... so in 2019 it would be full in effect. then it will be 11.6 bn $

Lastly, doesn't India have free basic health care already in effect? Because Pakistan does, and each year millions get absolutely free healthcare at government hospitals. The quality is not good but hey, it's free. (that includes prescriptions to surgeries.)

India already provides free primary and secondary health care. There is very long waiting time in government hospital so people who could pay prefers private hospitals.

1. This insurance scheme covers only tertiary treatment, one for which you require to go to specialized hospital. For Primary and secondary, government provides free healtcare but waiting time in government hospital is very long ( half a day- whole day).

2. US healthcare is 100 time costlier than comparable heathcare in third world. Obamacare is even costlier than comparable healthcare in any other western country.

3. The projected cost is actuarial cost.

4. Govt sponsored health insurance only covers cost upto a certain limit. In case cost exceeding this limit,Rich families ( defined in scheme directives) would have to bear it by themselves, while hospital has to bear cost of BPL families.( Hospitals in India get subsidized land in lieu of undertaking of treating a certain portion of their patients for free ).

So to me it seems like a hogwash.

You are a Pakistani. It is a disease.

See kaniyay, your comrades stirred shit by irrelevantly trolling pak (and thus got banned) in the very first posts, you're only taking spills.

you guys can be proud of being indians for a while until this plan faded, like what happened before.

.
For starters, get your paramedics plastic surgeries or they'd kill the patient with the looks. You can collect donations if you run out of money.
Paramedics wear scrubs when they treat patients,You don't see faces then, Will you go to a doctor who is good in his work and not so good looking for go to a Good looking quack who is not so good in his profession?Your choice, it is Medical profession people go there to save lives its not a beauty contest.

They are ingrate, they are born to ingrates.

However many of them come to India to get treated by these uglies only. Had they added anything to the humanity apart from terrorism?
Hell yeah, i see daily a lot of Pakistanis who come to India to have surgeries conducted on by our Ugly Indian doctors (which is heavily Subsidized by our government as goodwill gesture infact its free)while their own good looking doctors cant even perform a simple cancer surgery or liver transplant.
And these people laugh at us?What a shame they should first do brain surgeries in Pakistan and then come talk to us.

.
if by no of people it covers makes it the largest.....then congrats..... but to what extent the services would be provided is the main question... because given the amount, its quite low to even provide the basic service to whole indian population (WHO states a min of $44 per person for basic services)

There is something seriously wrong here.

You cannot cover 1.2billion people with 11 billion USD per year, you need way more than that. Plus, they haven't told us what services would be included, quality of care, etc.
It includes the basic care package upto 2 lakh rupees which is sufficient to cover most illnesses and ailments and surgeries, complicated surgeries might have another health insurance and most of the life saving drugs and chemotherapy and Anti-retro viral (ART) for Aids is given free by GOI that treatment alone would run into lakhs if a person were to get treated in China or USA.
Even Chinese doctors import Indian Drugs to give their less privileged patients a chance to live.
We have a similar package in our state Andhra Pradesh "Rajiv Arogyasree" which was first to be implemented in whole of India some 5 years ago and now that idea has been taken up by Central Government.

RAS is a unique Community Health Insurance Scheme being implemented in State. The scheme provides financial protection to families living below poverty line upto Rs. 2 lakhs in a year for the treatment of serious ailments requiring hospitalization and surgery. 938 treatments are covered under the scheme. The objective of the scheme is to improve access of BPL families to quality medical care for treatment of identified diseases involving hospitalization, surgeries and therapies through an identified network of health care providers. The scheme provides coverage for the systems like Heart, Lung, Liver, Pancreas, Kidney, Neuro-Surgery, Pediatric Congenital Malformations, Burns, Post -Burn Contracture Surgeries for Functional Improvement, Prostheses (Artificial limbs), Cancer treatment (Surgery, Chemo Therapy, Radio Therapy ), Polytrauma ( including cases covered under MV Act) and Cochlear Implant Surgery with Auditory-Verbal Therapy for Children below 2 years. All the pre-existing cases of the above mentioned diseases are covered under the scheme.

The beneficiaries of the scheme are the members of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families as enumerated and photographed in BPL Ration Card and available in Civil Supplies Department database. The benefit on family is on floater basis i.e. the total reimbursement of Rs.1.50 lakhs can be availed of individually or collectively by members of the family. An additional sum of Rs 50,000 is provided as buffer to take care of expenses if it exceeds the original sum i.e. Rs 1.50 lakhs per family. Cost for cochlear Implant Surgery with Auditory Verbal Therapy is paid by the Trust up to a maximum of Rs.6.50 lakhs per case.

he national scheme will be the same like this one if not even better.

They do the same with everything. They prefer a good looking man as a doctor over a talented one. Likewise, a good looking pilot over a skilled one. They have just a single criteria for all jobs. Be a good looker and everything else will be overlooked.
