A few weeks earlier, the two frigates had already met in Indonesia during the multinational exercise Komodo. The two ships have benefited from this new encounter to realize on May 6, a set of exercises and tactical shootings on floating targets.
The Vendemiaire frigate was then docked in the port of Qingdao for a three-day stopover, which generated a real local enthusiasm: more than 2,300 curious gathered to visit the ship.
The Chinese military, but also the population and members of the French alliance of Qingdao have during these few days stopover met and exchanged with the French sailors aboard the ship docked in the heart of the city.
On its departure, the Vendémiaire joined the Weifan frigate for a new exercise.
It was a more complex exercise,which councerned firing with bigger caliber of a very good level.After a final salute, the two buildings were separated and Vendémaire set sail on Korea.
Leaving Noumea on 17 March, the Vendémiaire surveillance frigate is under the operational control of ALPACI since April 1. Its deployment in Asia Pacific is part of the mission of the French armed forces presence in the area, which allows to underline the commitment of France to the freedom of maritime and air traffic and strengthen cooperation with neighboring countries, through interactions at sea or in port.
