'France used to run the show in North Africa. No more' - Turkish official

Agreed, you guys are much more loyal to your states and have a strong nationalist mindset, it will be hard to break those states by outsiders. Europeans suffered many headaches in this region before.

Do you see any chance of any united North African union forming in the near future? It just seems like common sense. Such a power could have control over the Mediterranean and Gibraltar.

The question should be rephrased to : why would they ?
1-In 1963 morocco attempted an invasion on Algeria, their forces were quickly pushed back inside their own territories by the algerian forces and thus were forced to declare cease-fire.
(the Moroccan complex, their sultan preferred to compromise in front of the French occupier and not to fight. And after our independence, they felt themselves pushing their wings not to say anything else to attack us.)

2-Morocco attacked Western Sahara in 1975 and still holds 80% of that territory to this day (many parts are full of land mines)

3-Morocco attempted to take the Perejil Island which are part of Spain in 2002, they were immediatly defeated by spanish forces, and here is a footage of it :

Now lets look at how the neighbors of morocco have dealt with this :

Algeria : border closed
Spain : border closed
Western Sahara : The moroccan forces built a wall to close on themselves
Mauritania : Bad relationships

Algeria has nothing to do with a drug-state like morocco, and is focused on its own protection.

Russia and Europe are starting to work together to repel the next ottoman invasion. Gates of Vienna 2.0

Nah, dont overestimate Turks. We dont need Russia to challenge them with their supa dupa toys. The real problem will come from east and fareast.

Why does Turkey have business in Libya, when not invited by the elected leaders of Libya. Why is Turkey rejecting international community calls in the banning of sending weapons into Libya. Why is Turkey acting like Washington in both Syria and Libya.

Those who won Libya's last election side with Egypt. Those who lost Libya's last election and have no legitimate government; side with Turkey.

Why does the Middle East Monitor give sanction to calling the militias in Tripoli - "terrorists".

I am not taking any sides as I respect Moroccans and Algerians both. In sha Allah, ties can be reset and new era of cooperation can begin.

Actually considering problems in France, it is imperative. I can see a very real threat of exodus of Muslims from France.

What do you think of Turkey in Libya?

Why does Turkey have business in Libya, when not invited by the elected leaders of Libya. Why is Turkey rejecting international community calls in the banning of sending weapons into Libya. Why is Turkey acting like Washington in both Syria and Libya.

Those who won Libya's last election side with Egypt. Those who lost Libya's last election and have no legitimate government; side with Turkey.

Turkey is still seen as the leader of the Sunni Islamic world. They are the last Khalifah, so Turkish name is well-respected in the Muslim Ummat.

The gravitation towards Turkey is natural given history and struggles of many states in the post-Ottoman era.

Who says Turkey is not invited?

Why international community ignores sending weapon to a puschist but barking when it comes to official government?

Why do you think protecting our interests sound you like "acting like Washington"?

I can express my opinion if I want, MME calls Egypt KSA, and UAE all kinds of names.

Report him if you think he is doing wrong. I am no advocate of no one here but i say stop if you call my nation a terrorist.

Surprising views from you brother. I have heard much different views from other Algerians.

North Africans in general happen to be extremely pro-Turkish, similar to Pakistanis and Afghans. This is due in part to similar religious views and a common history.

Turkification seems like the natural course for North Africa Maghreb. You can see it in history, down to the flags and nostalgia of the people.

It was only a matter of time. Also Somalia, Saharan, and West African nations have tremendous love for Turkey too.

I am happy to see a Muslim power in the region again after centuries.
Algerian are actually very pro France. See the number of Algerian that can speak French. The HSR in Algeria is build by France. Large number of military hardware are french too. France provide many generous loan to Algeria.

Turkey is a terrorist nation, trying to support Sarraj because he is a Turk ruling over a majority Arab nation. Turkey is no better than the Ottomans installing Turk governors to rule over non-Turk nations.

If the Arab leaders play it right, Assad should be armed to the teeth and able to pinch Turkey should the need arise. Iran is more favorable to me than Turkey, and thats a statement I never thought I would say.

Congratulations bro. You have proven that you have zero knowledge about the Libyan topic. Why do you even feel like you wanna post something in the first place?

I got things to do.

Like posting more pointless messages around? You do it good.
