I hope we do. Let's just take care of those "french" jihadists to avoid them coming back home. Then let Turks,Syrians,Kurds or whatever fight each other for all we care.

According to lefigaro between 400 and 500 French soldiers are present in Northern Syria. (Thought the number was way less). The main concern are the "french" jihadists held by the Kurds who could escape due to the Turkish assault. There are talks between Paris and Baghdad where French soldiers could transfer the jihadists held in Syria to Iraq and where they could be judged there. French soldiers would also move from Syria to Iraq by the same occasion.

@Vergennes the problem is the fact that everyone sees rightly daesh as a terrorist group which should be eradicated. And no doubt about it, it should be destroyed.

But in same time arming and letting those ethnics groups like the Kurds is a problem, a big problem for Turkey and others countries too sooner than later.

Do you remember what happened with all those groups who were financially and militarily helped in Afghanistan against soviets. They turned to continue to fight each others. They started to create problems for Pakistan, who in turn picked up a faction among the one présent there for its own interest (i could be wrong as I don’t know very well what really happened in this region). But anyway that’s not the main problem or maybe is linked with what happened next : emerging of alquaida terrorists. And then...You know better than me what happened on 9/11.

In the same pattern, we are creating the environment for next same kind of event unfortunately.

The Kurdish armed group will start to fight again against Turkey, will claim part of territory in Irak and co. The region will be destabilised again which in turn could lead to the emergence of a new terror group.

In fact we are creating today our future justification for our own future interventions in this region. Because this region is the battlefield of the East/West “cold” war.

Sure we should eradicate daech but we should also take care to fight in a such way that we don’t create future problems for the countries of this region and for us too.

I’m not expert at all so it is easy for me to say that, but I don’t have solution too.

You kicked nothing,you could hardly kick the pathetic YPG from their areas in Northern Syria despite massive air and artillery strikes,you didn't reach your objectives,now you have the YPG handing their positions to the Syrians and the Russians.
