France strikes Syria

I thought French cares so much about righteousness! I must be wrong.

That's the goal of any great power, pursue long term geopolitical interests while pushing war far from its borders and achieve greater strategic depth. Post WW2 and into the nuclear age, conflicts between great powers don't take place on each other's soil rather it's being pushed onto or outsourced to a proxy. This made possible the complex and often very delicate economic and industrial systems major powers have created that underpins the post war world order. Conflict ridden homelands will face difficulty in long term competitiveness.

War will never end, it just evolves and takes place in multiple dimensions. It is a fundamental part of human society and its evolution.

It is interesting that small-vision countries like France and UK have to act in tandem for a losing strategy attached to an illogical great power.

They simply helped Trump cool down ego and play himself some general game. What does he has to lose at this age?

Meek France and its allies simply gave Russia a turn to take revenge. The revenge, of course, will come in the form of eradication of some West-supported foreign contingencies in Syria.

In the end, the two sides will continue to beat down each other's allies on the ground. The question is, which sides' ally will be eradicated first. I see Russia closer to achieve the goal.

France and its allies were proven ineffective and meek.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Syria repelled the Western attack with air defense systems made in the USSR over 30 years ago.

"Syria's means of air defense: S-125, S-200 air defense systems, [as well as] Buk and Kvadrat units were used in the repelling the missile strike."

Later in the day, the Russian General Staff issued a statement, saying that a total of 71 cruise missiles out of 103 had been intercepted by Syria, adding that no government military airfrield had been damaged as a result of the attack.

"A few years ago, we refused to supply S-300 air defense systems to Syria due to the request of some of our Western partners. Taking into account what happened, we consider it possible to return to this issue. And not only with regard to Syria, but with regard to other states," the General Staff stated.

Syrian air defense forces have intercepted all 12 cruise missiles, which had been used to attack the Dumeir military airfield, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

"Over the past 1.5 years, Russia has fully restored the air defense system of Syria and continues to improve it."

Imagine if Syria could hit back to main land France or Britain, would they still had chosen to side with the US? I doubt that. One more reason why muslim countries including my own must develop systems capable of taking on the West. Syria has been made a mess because of the power play between US and Russia, both using it as a testing ground. Suffers of all this are the poor Syrians who die anyway.

Taking Sputnik as a "Witness" of good reporting is as bad as thinking Putin is an Angel...
Same for Official statement... "Wanted to point it out...for some is not that obvious unfortunately...)

And no need to jump on your horses... all news outlet on this particular "events" will be wrong... West to East...
You want a bit more of the truth...wait for independent reporting with Satellite imagery and on ground testimony...like previously made...

Instead of jumping or retarded propaganda mouths... just for the sake of highlighting your "Biased Thinking"

Too many ellipses. Use less, and save for later.

Angels, I do not know. But we have seen Napoleon rise. More likely anything else but an angel.

As for propaganda, if Russian MOD is propaganda, then your most independent reporting will be only a bad copy of a propaganda.

We are rightly talking about those claiming they "killed 65K terrorists" in Syria and re-captured areas that are much bigger than the size of Syria ? @500

Syrian launched a missile in the air but a cruise missile struck a target nearby moments later.

These kind of intercepts? I am sold.

Ask the Twitter police.

Could be bigger than Syria or smaller than Damascus.

Who says rest of the world would believe in your side of the story?

@500 , right?

I agree. You always make very good factual points and one of the very few fairly unbiased member on here. :enjoy:

Good show of strenght from the Armée de l'Air and the Marine Nationale.

17 aircrafts (Rafale, tankers,AWACS) were deployed from France and took part in the airstrikes,in all autonomy. Few nations in Europe could do it. Same goes for all the means deployed by the French Navy.
