Interesting test to Russian air defence. If s400 proves good then watch the world rush to buy it.

It is said that no new air defense platforms were used. Only the old ones. I guess the reason was that the attack was mostly choreographed.

And I agree, they fight a war in a third country. That's the reality of great power relations.

The French Navy has involved 3 FREMM frigates (with MdCN missiles),one ASM frigate and a support ship tonight against Syria.

The Air Force for its part involved several Rafale, armed with SCALP missiles and several tankers.

That's the goal of any great power, pursue long term geopolitical interests while pushing war far from its borders and achieve greater strategic depth. Post WW2 and into the nuclear age, conflicts between great powers don't take place on each other's soil rather it's being pushed onto or outsourced to a proxy. This made possible the complex and often very delicate economic and industrial systems major powers have created that underpins the post war world order. Conflict ridden homelands will face difficulty in long term competitiveness.

War will never end, it just evolves and takes place in multiple dimensions. It is a fundamental part of human society and its evolution.
