as soon as first batch will come out from production in next few month, they will form sqd no 45, the flying daggers in sulur. (6 aircrafts will be delivered before December and rest will come onwards)Can you share with me the squadron number of the LCA. I still understand they are in testing phase.
LCA is under testing to clear its FOC i.e. Final Operational clearance.
It has already cleared IOC that was required to clear it for production.
The First LCA squadron will be based at the sulur air base and will have 21 LCA.
IAF plans to induct 14 squadrons of LCA in the coming years. The plan has already been approved. i.e. a total of 294 LCA's to be in active duty.
LCA squadron will have 20 aircrafts. It is conformed by IAF itself, as they order of 40 LCA. 20 of IOC2 standard and 20 of FOC standard. IAF may induct 20 more fighters if mk2 delayed too much.
Broadsword said 21.
What you think that IAF will put 20 IOC2 standard and 1 FOC standard LCA.
AND in second they willput 19LCA1 and wait for 2 more LCAmk2.
...
.
.really.
no, plans tends to change.
They need to enter squadron service first after obtaining FOC. The December 2014 deadline for the LCA Mk I to secure its FOC is being extended to March 2015.@OrionHunter can help you with the details
