France in 'final' talks with UAE on Rafale sales: Minister

Interesting...60 high end Rafales should place the UAE airforce way above others in the region.

If they increase their number of F-16 Block 60s as well as get this Rafale they should prove a challenge to Israel even.

The reason I am excited about UAE getting more powerful because all of the GCC stands by each other. KSA, Jordan and UAE are the backbone of this alliance. Besides the UAE is having its own Endogenous defense industry I wouldn't be surprised if a year from now they introduce their own family of Air-to-Air missiles.

. .
does UAE have BVR missiles... or did the Zionists cry to their uncle sam... ?

An Off-topic question

With the support of KSA, Jordan and Morocco will be gaining GCC membership and are now working out the final steps to enter the council.

UAE and Qatar (Qatar specially) are very active with the Libyan NTC. What do you think, will Qatar ask GCC for the addition of Libya to the council let us say within a decade if not very soon?

I don't know after Jordan and Morocco several countries including Egypt and Algeria have requested entry into the council. But I do not think it is possible because of their economic problems. The GCC is going to take a hit down because of Jordan and Morocco but the deals and investments are already made to boost their economy to GCC standards in a couple of years so the future common currency won't be affected heavily in a negative way (Euro anyone??).

Besides Jordan and Morocco's military will surely boost the GCC as the strongest Military in the region fielding the most advanced military technology known to man and Jordanians can share with their experience in combat and hard training in our own training to completely seal off all the little gaps in our military.

Also there is a plan to make the GCC into a confederate which effectively makes the armies and economies etc as one. Which will be like a huge expansion of power for all countries involved.

About Libya I don't know but it is a possibility. Because the GCC pretty much boosts the poorer countries economies 2-3 folds.

A confederation (or a real union if you may want to call it) was and is a dream of the people of GCC since a long time now along with the desire to have a unified passport and a unified currency.

Few days back i was reading that the Ministers of Information of the GCC have decided to jointly produce educational and social programs for TV.

Reading that news i remembered the program "قف" from the 80s, after that program I don't remember any TV production like it made jointly.

The current political situation and the uprisings in some Arab countries have made the GCC leadership to re-think where they were heading.

True. For instance the common currency was held up because the UAE wanted the central bank in Abu-Dhabi and not Riyadh ( Childish if you ask me) And military exercises were held up because of problems who would be the commander of the exercise not with everything going on around us the stared to really work towards that goal. For instance last week there was a GCC common air force exercise here in my city I saw our typhoon and their F-16 flying in formation the other day lol.

By the way I already can go to any GCC country without a passport. the same applies to all GCC countries.

Yes, GCC nationals can visit other GCC without Passports.

But KSA suspended the entry of UAE nationals on ID few years back while UAE continued allowed the entry of the KSA nationals on ID, you may very well know the reason of the long dispute (the main cause of the suspension)

I don't know whether now the UAE nationals are being allowed to enter KSA on ID or not, because the reason why KSA suspended the use of ID for entry of UAE nationals is no more seen on the ID :D

I wanted to write all this in a PM to you as all this is off-topic but could not as i am still lagging in the number of posts :D.

The UAE ALWAYS goes for the best of any kind. wither F-16s or Rafales their pilots will always fly the best version.
But the question is That IS UAE air force trained or ready for war if situation arises? If yes than I think they should go for the most deadly one or other wise they are just waiting their money I know Saudi Arabia has increased the standard of training of their pilots but I have doubts over UAE

Sir is it True that Morroco was offered money by Saudi Arabia if they want to buy weapons ?

Why is all the Fighter Planes of UAE are based or deployed on one base

I am not sure about the UAE pilots either. But their very specific purchases tells me perhaps they know what they are doing. I know that UAE pilots go to the US to train their pilots they also along with Omanis send them to our schools.

And I think it is true that the Moroccan military purchases are financed by us to increase the GCC collective strength.
