it is all about the seat in UNO and the top 10 economy of the world, not so bad right?
But people don't think it is a superpower
when you ask politics or people here abotu superpower they will answer you: USA, China and Russia

About this oil, i guess it is normal CNT can choose who they want
And France was very active to help the Libya's people and CNT wanted to thank it. It is natural/logic.
There are many reasons spoken about why France did so much if you read the politics and media here:
1/ France supported Ben Ali and politicians had hard time to change their mind about these people
2/ France was coming back to normal relations with Kadhafi but it was very very unpopular in France
people were upset against Sarkozy when he allowed Gaddafi to come in France
3/ media spoke a lot about the massacres in Libya
4/ a few well known intellectuals asked an intervention to save the people

that's not always easy to support this or that. it has to take a decision .
remember how USA entered in the world war II . It could have never happened. But for good it happened.

Why resort to personal insults? The rebels are not yet in full control, the money will be released gradually. It will take time for things to be organised, if all the money was released now then it could be lost through corruption.

Today i look at the guardian and the figure is £18 billion. The figure seems to be distorted greatly depending on what the government wants to either keep or hide for whatever reason. My issue is the money is not for them to decide when and how to release. What males them the world police? Why is Hague already touting for business in Iraq already - there is a humanitarian issue so they keep saying. They seem to be jumping the gun. I don't have hate for the country i live. Well Gaddafi tried to created a Muslim united nation during days of King Faisal , as you recall the oil embargo after the Israeli war then US/UK destroyed civilian airplane from Libya which resulted in escalation of crisis and US put a hold on Libyan finances and similarly Europe also did the same around time when they accused Libya of some imaginary bombing of some plane which has not been proven


After that Libya was prevented an ability to have airforce which shows you what happened beyond that

Remember words of Qaud-e-Azam on airforce every sovereign nation needs a strong airforce

I think we are also partly to blame as we did not step and and said NO to NATO

Libya's mistake was it gave up Nuclear weapons instead of making it like they did in North Korea
