I was shocked when I got to know about Renault opening a plant in Pakistan. They have totally failed in GCC.
Because here ppl have 100's of other options too!

. .
Nobody told our boys that Pakistan was isolated ?

Just kidding,of course our groups can see the pakistany market as an opportunity of evolution,we can invest in the energy sector, cars, new technologies, agriculture, health, bring our help and expertise.

Would love to see Pakistan and France relations in many areas.

People regard them low because of their low price tag.

I have driven Citroen for over 40,000 miles (65,000km) and spent 0 pound over its maintenance a part from service for couple of times costing really low and replacing 2-3 used tyres for once. I had never been happier than driving that vehicle although I do confess that one of the various reason included that it finally needed some minor repair but I decided to sell it to get a new one instead

The car is really good, you just need to maintain it properly

it's gonna be cheaper then Honda Civic which cost 3 Million PKR :P
but still either the government has continued to impose heavy taxes on automobile industry ultimately leading to support of monopoly of trio manufacturers (suzuki, toyota and honda) or else they have made sure enough kickbacks to support such figure of 2.3 million rupees. Renault could have offered the same brand for less than 1.3 million rupees if the same is being offered in UK for just 8700 pounds.

in UK however this model is known as Dacia Duster. So I suppose Renault is going to offer Indian version of Renault Duster in Pakistani market which they are charging around 850,000 Indian rupees in India. So that's roughly 1.3 million Pakistani rupees.

I see 1.3 million Pakistani rupees as cost of product and final price and 1 million goes into corruption may be... Not a bad deal for common Pakistanis who are used to see even 50% money going into corruption in past

I do hope Renault is not planning to import from India to sell this vehicle in Pakistani market

ISLAMABAD: Jean Marc FENET, Head of the Regional Economic Department for India and South Asia of France has said that his country considered Pakistan a huge market for business and wanted to further improve bilateral trade and economic relations with it.

He said that France previously focused on China due to which South Asia was ignored, but now it was focusing on South Asia for business. He said Pakistan, being a big market of this region, was gaining more attention of France. He said this while addressing business community at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He was accompanied by Philippe FOUET, Head of the Economic Department, Embassy of France.

Jean Marc FENET said that due to CPEC, France was taking more interest in Pakistan as this project was poised to create many new opportunities for business and investment.

He said business was the best way to promote bilateral relations between countries. He also said France has latest technology and expertise and Pakistan could achieve good results for its economy by enhancing cooperation with it.

He said he would try to visit Pakistan twice a year to identify new areas of mutual cooperation between the two countries. Speaking about Brexit, he said UK was an entry point for EU. However, Brexit will affect more to UK instead of EU. He suggested that ICCI should take a delegation to France to explore new avenues of mutual collaboration.

Speaking at the occasion, President of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khalid Iqbal Malik said that Pak-France bilateral trade of €1.1 billion in 2015 was not up to the real potential of both countries. He said both countries have good potential to enhance cooperation in energy, agriculture, food processing, aviation, IT, automobile, engineering and other areas. He stressed that direct contacts between private sectors should be the main focus to further improve two-way trade volume.

He said that many Pakistani products including sports goods, surgical instruments, leather products, gloves of all sorts, textiles items, sports wears, uniforms & accessories, musical instruments, kitchen ware, cutlery items and military uniform badges could find good market in France and emphasized that French Embassy should facilitate our business community in promoting exports to France. He said about 44 French companies have business stakes in Pakistan and more should come to explore investment and joint ventures in our country.

Khalid Malik SVP, Tahir Ayub VP ICCI, Zafar Bakhtawari, M Zakria A Zia, Sh Amir Waheed, Raja Abdul Majeed and other also spoke at the occasion.

More isolationism. Can't take it anymore......

The unfortunate reality is... everything that comes to Pakistan is always the most expensive in the world

The power plants being constructed in India were costing around 4 cents per unit compared to 3x more in Pakistan, The cars built in India costs 3x less and then we will cover it up with excuses, The metro bus project costs many times more and the simple ring road project costs 4-6x times thab originally planned. The Neelum Jhelum hydopower project has also already exceeded total cost by 3-4 times if my memory is correct and then we will give reasons for all that mess rather than acknowledging the signs of corruption

I am not blaming anybody, its just a bitter reality in Pakistan that whatever we get has to be the most expensive in the world. If lets say for example Renault imported parts from India they surely costs less than 700,000 Indian rupees or far less actually as their final price includes the overhead cost up to the point of sale in India so it should surely have been imported for similar price in Pakistan and sold for similar to more realistic figure of 1.3 to 1.4 million Pakistani rupees which is good enough to justify the price. Anything above takes you to higher end brands and makes one wonder about the possible elements of corruption

Pakistan's economy is on the verge to take off. The economic environment in the country is extremely feasible for the foreign investors. Thanks to Pakistan Army for improving the security situation in the country. They have played an essential role in improving the security situation in the country. Now Pakistan has become a viable country for foreign investors. Many companies views Pakistan as a huge market.
I see good times ahead

.
Makes commons sense. Any big market is valuable to any business minded country. Pakistan is a big market so why would France ignore that potential?

France has already built a nuclear powered aircraft carrier.

We should order one.
Well as long as you are paying, I'm sure PN won't mind. 5 of them would be nice

One for Gawadar
One for Karachi
One as backup
One for training
One exclusively for you, since you are kind enough to be paying.

Thank You from the bottom of my heart. Oh and don't forget we need a couple of hundreds of aircrafts to go with them. Don't worry about the battle group, PN will buy that on it's own.
