yes, everyone must have a personal computer/communicator but it shouldn't be a wireless duplex voice communicator where someone can "walk and talk" or really walk and yakk, or indeed type text message while walking on the footpath or a road cross and in the process causing trouble or danger to themselves and others.

If these farmers can get manufacturing jobs, wont it ease their burden? Sugar cane is a cash crop but extremely poor in return. Its just not feasible to grow outside of mechanized large plantations. The water requirements are too high and tax the ground water of the land too much.

Foxconn dont really employ that many software engineers and such. Expect thousands and thousands of lower end assembly jobs. Not too bad if you dont mind 12 hour shifts, crazy performance targets and monotonous drudge.

Its a proletariats paradise!

Much better than farming sugar cane for a pittance or gambling a crop harvest on the whimsical ups and downs of rain bearing clouds.

but about agriculture you are going in the correct path by mentioning mechanized plantations... the traditional open-air agriculture is not scientific for most crops and what should be done instead is neighborhood-level automated 'vertical farms' including for sugar cane... and this done in collectivized co-operatives manner.

the problem of indian farming is, (a). most are small farms which makes them inefficient, (b). the capitalist socio-economic system surrounding the farmers.
