Weren't we importing Type 56 from China ? They were not being made in POF.

Because POF churns out copies that aren't as reliable as type 56
Infact the Newer Type 56 II aren't impressive either( Most of them have started to rust badly barely 4-5 years into service)
You'd find an older Type 56 with wooden stock & an underfolding bayonet far superior in terms of build quality & metallurgy

The type 56-II isn’t as robust in general, even when imported, Not when compared to the 56-I, those were great rifles. However I’ve heard that the modernized ones PA is using are better.

The Belarussian one is it being made in Pakistan or not. Are we making this one have we started to produce this one or not ?

POF is making AK and Type-56 for more than a decade or two ...once the POF officials put an AK on display in an arms show in Turkey ...Izmash guys objected on that and the POF was requested to remove it and they did.

@PanzerKiel Sir waiting for your answer. Is POF making them now ? Is that why Belarussian president was so happy to meet Imran Khan ?

I definitely saw some locally built AKs a while back but finish quality was very poor with occasional jamming. This one has a very good finish and build quality so seems like a new addition. If this is the case then POF definitely upgraded some of its facilities very quietly.

This policy of hiring aliens for local policing may backfire. Police not only is responsible for maninting law and order but also for formulating a kind of trust based relationship between them and the locals that they are their watching your back and this doesnt happen without being familiar to local customs and gaining a firsthand knowledge about the conflicts plaguing the region being posted at . Itd would be foolish to expect any substantial progress wrt reducing crime rate when the chief was dispatched without his consent or for making his a.c.r bulky for promotion's sake while lobbying behind the scenes to make an early exit.


The whole procedure reeks of military proctols being followed while at the same time trying to establish civilian authority and for the indeginous people it wont make any difference.

Yes we need community policing not only in the new districts of KP but all of Pakistan, cops are the aspect of the state most folk interact with the most.
