Former Saudi consultant reveals a plan to establish 'Great Kurdistan'

Turkey is not begging, it is Greece that is begging and is a humiliation despite being an EU member.
some members of EU put some economic conditions on Turkey which it fulfilled but main reason for reluctance by the Nordic countries was its Muslim population and its affect on EU population, despite claiming to be non-religious and secular they do have different standards when it comes to Muslims.

SO, the problem was NOT with Turkey but some racist little countries in EU. before mocking Turkey do remember that ISIS and your Al Nushrah would have had no successes in Syria had it not been Turkey offering all the helps to the rebels against Asad. even without being an Arab GCC member, Turkey became a host and battle ground for Arabian war games in the middle east. the least you can do is Not insult Turkey if you cant appreciate its support re war against Asad regime.
The biggest reason why Turkey will never join EU is that it would shift the power balance within EU with its 80 million population, everything else is bla bla...
Basically France and Germany are dictating EU right now, what small countries say doesnt matter, thats why UK and even Greece alongside other small EU members support Turkish membership.

You don't just need to fulfil economic conditions to join the EU. There's no way European countries would agree to Turkey joining the EU without having solved the issue with Cyprus first.
Reality check.

In life you have to make compromises. Would I like the Cyprus issue to be solved? Greece to have 12 n. miles territorial waters? Turkey to recognize the Armenian genocide? I would really like all of that. The problem is that Turkey would enter the EU in the year 2150 if we waited until all of these were done. That's why the main prerequisite for Turkish membership has being defined as the solution to the Cyprus dispute.

To some extend relations with Greece must be normal as well but they are of lesser importance. The European Parliament has rejected twice adding the Armenian issue as a membership criterion for Turkey.

In France, if 3/5 of the delegates (from the Senate and the Parliament) agree to the accession of Turkey, there will be no referendum.

The EU will be there for Turkey but so far it doesn't seem like Erdo is very eager to lead the country to that direction. In the end, if Turkey doesn't want to enter the EU, nobody can force it to.

Greece is a seperate issue. Nobody can know for sure but my prediction is that no deal will be reached. I hope that we will reach a deal but I'm not confident at all that Tsipras can make it... Who knows what will happen. The sooner we move to an actual government like our last one the sooner we'll get out of this mess. It took us 5 years to get to a primary surplus and return to growth and all was ruined in 5 months...

Turkey doesn't want to join EU because they set the bar higher everytime it hits the bar. Erdogan understood it was just a carrot and stick game and he put it down couple of notches. He still pretends he wants to join for EU funds for development but that is about it. If there is no double standard, why doesn't Greece has to recognize the genocides and ethnic cleansing it committed on Turks and Albanians throughout Greece? Why doesn't France recognize the crimes the committed in Algeria and elsewhere? It is just politics. The EU is a German-Franco economic alliance. Greece was crushed under their weight and will be ousted soon. They only take small countries like Greece which they can use and abuse. I doubt Greece will recover soon though. It doesn't have any industry whatsoever and has a worse work ethic than Albanians and Macedonians.

I'd talk about the genocides and the massacres that all these countries have commited but the main point is that it's not a prerequisite for Turkish membership so it wouldn't matter.
