Germany and EU fearing Russia is understandable, they didn't just follow US order for that position, Japan is in a very different situation, Japan does that just because US orders it to do. A country financially supports US to occupy their own country and US asks for more each passing new year.

Have to admit that Russia does have some aggression and land grabbing tendency, they are very warlike, China is not and China and Japan are separated by seas. I say both Germany and Japan are under US control, more or less, more for Japan and less for Germany.

Russia has literally never invaded Germany.
Meanwhile, China under Yuan dynasty invaded Japan 2 times, and they cross the Senkaku every weeks.

And if Germany is less controlled by the US, why is it that Japan is importing Russian gas and mantains their economy, meanwhile Germany has to cut itself off and import 100% LNG?

US's main target is actually China, Germany doesn't really follow US requests and still keeps a healthy business relations with China, overall, Germany is a bit more independent than Japan, at least Germany has EU to lead, Japan leads no one.

I mean relative to each country's overall size of economy, actually S.Korean is a bigger trading partner to China than Japan, Japan will become a less and less relevant business partner to China in the future.
