Former president Karzai slams ‘US legacy in Afghanistan of total disgrace and disaster,’ hails China’s role in bringing stability

The US has no interest in land locked Afghanistan
Perhaps but keeping tabs on China was always the end goal, what better way than in neighboring Afghanistan.

I don't think he is in Afghanistan. He along with his drug lord brother is largely responsible for the current state of Afghanistan. There was never any hope for Afghanistan.

The country produces twice as much opium as it did in 2000. How did all those poppy fields flower under the nose of one of the biggest international military and development missions of our time? The answer lies partly in the deeply cynical bargains struck by former Afghan President Hamid Karzai in his bid to consolidate power, and partly in the way the U.S. military ignored the corruption of its allies in taking on the Taliban. It’s the story of how, in pursuit of the War on Terror, we lost the War on Drugs in Afghanistan by allying with many of the same people who turned the country into the world’s biggest source of heroin.

us soldiers use military airline to smuggle heroine
Indeed. US is only good in destroying other countries. Nation building is not US speciality.

us bombs
China builds

for what? the US has ceded more territory than any other nation in recorded history.
I mean Cuba, the Philippines were examples of territory the US gave back to the indigenous population after defeating a colonial power. The US has no interest in land locked Afghanistan.

Did you even read your own source? In the absence of any institutions to self govern based on the recommendations of the Schurman Commission in 1899 the path to self governance was laid out. The United States of America granted independence to the Philippines on July 4, 1946 once the islanders attained the capability to self govern.

On January 20, 1899, President McKinley appointed the First Philippine Commission(the Schurman Commission), a five-person group headed by Dr. Jacob Schurman, president of Cornell University, to investigate conditions in the islands and make recommendations. In the report that they issued to the president the following year, the commissioners acknowledged Filipino aspirations for independence; they declared, however, that the Philippines was not ready for it. Specific recommendations included the establishment of civilian government as rapidly as possible (the American chief executive in the islands at that time was the military governor), including establishment of a bicameral legislature, autonomous governments on the provincial and municipal levels, and a new system of free publicelementary schools.[142]

From the very beginning, United States presidents and their representatives in the islands defined their colonial mission as tutelage: preparing the Philippines for eventual independence.[157] Except for a small group of "retentionists", the issue was not whether the Philippines would be granted self-rule, but when and under what conditions.

Lol... Of cos, self justification crime! Like murder a whole race of people and then just admit and apologize and your crime will be erased. Typical self righteous justification method. :enjoy:

Why are you avoiding the uprising of Philippine people? So Pinoy are wrong according to your rules on their land?

Who are u to make laws for the native of their land?

No wonder Duterte rather support China than US even at expense of losing few territories.

Nothing to avoid, the Philippines became an American protectorate because the Philippines was incapable of defending itself from powers such as Japan and incapable of effective self rule.

Have you forgotten how colonial powers controlled parts of China in the same time frame?
The Germans, Brits, Russians, Italians and so on..

The reason is because it was more profitable control the pinoys under a local chieftan. If USA was to occupied Philippines like Guam or Puerto Rico, then NYC got to be prepare to be flooded by Pinoys.

Similarly no one in China is interested in taking those Hindu shthole land. But Tibetan India is another story.
