Former Pakistani ISI Chief Hamid Gul: "God Help America!!" - The Alex Jones Show 1/4

You are better qualified to comment on the General and his activities than i am.

Therefore i will only say that- has the General's influence that he wielded in the ISI and related 'projects' been completely been eliminated or at the very least neutralised? Of and on, one hears about some Colonels, Majors and Squadron Leaders etc. (probably retired) involved in some adventures. Granted, they may be loose cannons; but they still have the potential to cause trouble all around; not least to Pakistan itself. Has that risk been eradicated? And i'm not asking this question as some politician across some border but as an individual.

Once you are in, you are never really out of the game. This is especially true for those who work in intelligence services and you are correct in saying what you did. Those rogue elements that we hear about very often refer to some of these people and also the general in question.

General Gul was once being touted by the Americans as the next man in charge but some events altered their relation, turning General Gul against the Americans.

@ T-Faz
Thank you for a well-reasoned response. i find the statement above rather intriguing. Did the Americans really hope/attempt to see this General at the helm of affairs (country/Army) ?

.
Yeah - American gave him a lot of importance after Zia Death but eventually they used their influence to block his promotion and instead of him General Asif Nawaz was promoted.General Gul pictures can be found on internet with CIA Chief and other important American players.

.
He said many things clear and these things must be convey clearly. Where matter concerns about his promotion than this is not difficult to understand 'why' "YES BOSS" OR "NO BOSS" !!!:azn: Any how it was a good interview.

Isnt Hamid Gul the guy who said 9/11 attacks were actually done by the Americans???

.
He only become head of ISI for a limited period when General Akhtar Abdur Rahman died in a plane crash with Zia. Subsequently Gul was fired after he botched the Jalalabad operation.

Gul is another one of those generals who flourished under Zia, you might be aware that many of our great soldiers were either kicked out or restricted in those days and religious extremists were promoted or those who were close to Zia.

As soon as Zia was out of the scene, the good old soldiers returned and are working to this day to repair the damage caused by him.

For your info brother he was the head of ISI for 2 Years and he was not fired, just transferred as the Corps Commander II Corps Multan. In this capacity, Gen. Hamid Gul conducted the Zarb-e-Momin military exercise in November-December 1989, the biggest Pakistani Armed Forces show of muscle since 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, which was also a great success.
General Asif Nawaz upon taking the reins of Pakistan Army in August 1991, had Gul transferred as the DG Heavy Industries Taxila. A menial job compared to Gul's stature, Gul refused to take the assignment, an act for which he resigned from the army by saying that “I am not born to serve as a factory manager, I am general and will die as a general”.

.
I regard him as the only General, Pakistan Army ever had !!!

When Akhtar Abdur Rahman died he was not the DG ISI, he was the 'Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee'

I think Lt. Gen. (retd.) H. Gul has good intentions and is a patriot of Pakistan who served his nation well and dutifully.

If the media approaches him and he want to answer the questions then I don't see what the problem is. He's been retired for many years now, he's speaks merely as a civlian.

So i dont see what the big deal is. I agree with many things he says, disagree with some things as well. As would be the case in any debate.

No, though he did demand that Americans prove that the al qaeda operatives which taleban were unfortunately protecting initially were indeed reponsible for the terrorist attacks on 11/09/01

even in America itself there are some CTs who believe that such was the case. . .so it's silly to sideline him only for bringing up that point

I dont think much of explanation was needed after Osama admitted to have done it.

Good old soldiers like Musharraf, Pasha and kayani who have shown to the world how to defend the sovereignty of the motherland by taking viagras and sleeping pills, I suppose! BTW I forgot to mention that these brilliant generals gave shelter to OBL for five years, so Pakistan should thank them for their heroic role in bringing about the mess Pakistan is in at the moment.;)
