I agree with your post hole-heartedly. Just one thing, Zia's boys lasted a pretty long time even though civilian rule was seen during the 90s. I remember a few incidents where some strict wahabi type officers made some Jawans do forward rolls down a hill during Ramadan for 8 hours until one of them died. Their punishment? Refusing to not shave.

Zia's children can still be found lurking around in our civil and military institutions. Many of our Generals from then onwards have undone, actually still trying to undo his work that affected the army very negatively.

The story you mentioned was one of many from that time which led to moral decline amongst our soldiers.

I am surprised and honestly relived that many in Pakistan too consider this ex-general a bozo. However, what makes this particular bozo a threat is that he was privy to sensitive information during his days as ISI chief and now retains contact with some sympathizers in PA/ISI along with contacts with the taliban groups. You are better qualified to comment on the General and his activities than i am.
Therefore i will only say that- has the General's influence that he wielded in the ISI and related 'projects' been completely been eliminated or at the very least neutralised? Of and on, one hears about some Colonels, Majors and Squadron Leaders etc. (probably retired) involved in some adventures. Granted, they may be loose cannons; but they still have the potential to cause trouble all around; not least to Pakistan itself. Has that risk been eradicated? And i'm not asking this question as some politician across some border but as an individual.

I am very sorry to say that what Hamid Gul in the part 4 mentioned about global Jihad called by Pakistan, and it should be not be taken lightly by India or Israel or US, I really feel that he is living in his own dreamworld because our own Muslim world is not helping us when we are in a state of disaster. They are not even providing money to Pakistani people who is in a real bad state. Come on guys

Do you still expect them to join us in a global Jihad which is called by us against the western, Indian and Israel .
