Terrorism??? That is really confusing.
OTOH, Subverting and obstructing the cause of Justice and the Judicial System. Or Suborning the Constitution. Overthrowing a duly elected Govt. and Issuing illegal orders. All of these charges may hold some water.

I think assassination aspects are stronger than jail, however both chances are quite strong but this thing can be dragged on for years and years.

Supreme Court would do well not to be swayed by the swathe of anti-Musharraf atmosphere in all of Pakistan thinking that just because most Pakistanis are anti-Musharraf and his misery is downright enjoyed by most, this would be okay too. Supreme Court handled Gilani's case by the book and this case should also be handled by the book.

I would like the SC to handle it like that. as much as i dislike musharraf i would like to have him a fair trial. if he can provide evidences that he is innocent then by all means case closed. This is very wishful thinking bcz after all the history between them its just human psychology to be biased about it. its human nature and you really have to be just to ignore something like that.

CJ can make history if case comes to him. he can show that as a judge he can be both wise and just and can let go of past grudges. He can be unbiased in his approach. If musharraf is guilty hang him to death and if he is not then free him.

Forward events will be very interesting.

If he is being framed of terrorism charges, and he is going to a terrorism related court (is there such a thing?), then it is good news for musharaff. Because those charges will not hold water. There are very real and very serious cases that he should be tried for, like subverting the judiciary, and suspending the constitution. If those are being dubbed as "terrorism" instead of the right words, then his defence lawyers will easliiy beat the case.

While all musharaff supporters here seem to be upset that he is being charged with terrorism, I think you are all missing the point. That could be a way of setting him free, by misphrasing the crimes he commited.

If a rapist is taken to court and the prosecution charges him with murder instead of rape, he will easily beat the case in court because they cant prove that he murdered anybody.

the judge was not their in courts so he has been moved to police headquarters and will be brought forward tomorrow. In news right now. the judge was gone for judicial conference and the duty judge wasnt there either so he was taken to police head quarters where he will spend the night there and will be brought again tomorrow see about his bail.,

Now senate is against him. they have agreed on resolution that

1. musharraf is to be tried according to article 6.
2. all portraits of musharraf are to be removed from public buildings.
3. we condemn the way musharraf ran and the police that didnt catch him
4. it is the duty of interim govt to agree and support the courts decision.

this is news.

Just wait and watch...He is going to get deth sentance...

Doubt it. its is possible in the worst to worst case scenario for musharraf but I dont see it happening.

Senate passes resolution to try Musharraf under Article 6 | Pakistan | DAWN.COM


ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Friday unanimously passed a resolution calling for a trial of former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution for derailing democracy and abrogating the constitution.

The resolution was tabled by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s Senator Ishaq Dar and was approved by all members of the Upper House of Parliament.

The resolution also demanded that all photographs, posters and banners of the former president be removed from all government buildings with immediate effect.

The Senators also called for the implementation on its earlier resolution of January 23, 2012.

Moreover, Federal Interior Minister Malik Muhammad Habib Khan informed the Senate that Musharraf was already in the government’s custody and that his Chak Shahzad residence had been declared a sub-jail
