Former American ambassador Munter ascribes frayed ties to ‘Pakistan fatigue’

My friend,

When did this happen?

Unless US officially declares Pakistan an enemy state and makes appropriate arrangements for it, Pakistan is not the enemy.

You don't need to write enmity in words or speak it , it can be seen by deeds or action. Bombing Pakistan with drones , violating it's sovereignty ,arming our enemy and investingin them to change the balance of power in the region are just a few.

Iran is trying to make amends with the US actually. They struck a deal with the Americans on nuclear issue and they have also requested Trump administration to honor it.

Yes, look at what happened when the deal with the Iranians was completed, the Iranians were double crossed.

I am not sure how you are getting this impression. US will never be irrelevant in the affairs of the world because it is a significant contributor to economy, culture and progress around the world.

Quite a few countries have ditched USA for China and Russia and many are in the pipeline to switch, some are too frightened or have puppets installed.

American economy has highest GDP and it produces DEMAND, my friend. A powerful hint there. Without American investment, Chinese economy looses its value.

The U.S. debt to China is $1.115 trillion, as of October 2016. That's 29 percent of the $3.841 trillion in Treasury bills, notes, and bonds held by foreign countries. The rest of the $19.9 trillion debt is owned by either the American people or by the U.S. government itself.22 Dec 2016

Russia and China are no where close to the US in the matters of military capability aside from the nuclear calculus. And we don't know if nuclear calculus will remain relevant in the future or not. Humans are inventing new things with passage of time. There may come a time when nuclear weapons will be obsolete. Keep your fingers crossed.

Well we have seen America's and NATOs power in Syria , Afghanistan, Iraq etc

Now, power is not just about nuclear weapons, it is a term with much broader scope and meaning.

Try to understand why US is the most powerful country in the world. Take a look at the scale of its global commitments and contributions. They will tell you

USA needs to get used to the new world order.

My friend,

When did this happen?

When they supported terrorist groups in our neighborhood.

  1. India
  2. Afghanistan
  3. ISIS
When they turned a blind eye to India's support of terrorism, when we caught their spy, Khulbushan Yadev.

When they gave their support to India in NSG and MTCR.

When they started to bad mouth Pakistan.

List is long.

That qualifies USA as a threat to Pakistan (and humanity).

.
How about translating that hatred for US with action ? And leaving the country for starters ?

If I leave I won't be able to have an intelligent discussion with Americans on Pakistan. Then the only resource Americans will have of getting information on Pakistan is through the Jewish controlled media.

.
I think no sane country wish to have bad relationship with USA but the problem in Pak-US relationship is, The mentality of average Pakistanis is aggressive and they don't like to take orders, the mentality of Americand is also aggressive and they like to get things done with force if they cannot achieve desired results. So this relationship is never going to work and will continue to cause trouble for both.

In my opinion it is in the best interest of both US and Pakistan to engage in certain level of diplomatic relationship and move on with it... don't expect anything more than that

Lol since when does having an " intelligent" discourse becomes a prequsite for staying in US ?

Are you in your immense wisdom implying that local people in pak are dumb ? And have no exposure ?
Is that the reason why we are nuke armed country ?
Please shed some light on this lunacy

I never said I wanted to leave the U.S. you're the one who implied I should. Just because I badmouthed the U.S. i'm suppose to leave? I wander, whose actually being the silly one?

I didn't imply anything. I hope and pray nothing but the best for Pakistan and Pakistanis.

Yes ofc that shows your hypocrisy from your part. You bad mouth it because you don't agree with its pol ies yet you continue to live there. Your taxes have no doubt funded the war on Muslims states and yet you have audacity to show your insignificant hatred. You're indeed one confused guy still searching for his roots

Unofficially Pakistan is an enemy. Keep my friend close but my enemy closer...

....To be an enemy of America is dangerous but to be a friend is worse...something like this...

.
We cannot work one way street with Americans when they are arming incompetent Afghan govt specially trained with motivation to face Pakistan and Iran...while treat India has friendly!

Yes ofc that shows your hypocrisy from your part. You bad mouth it because you don't agree with its policies yet you continue to live there and eat. How different are you from Afghanis then ?

Have some honour and if you truly don't agree then leave, rather than living there and bad mouthing. This is against the grace of a man

Half of Americans don't agree with the U.S. policies but you don't see them leaving. This has nothing to do with honor. It has to do with what is wrong and what is right. And the U.S. is treating Pakistan wrongfully. As a proud Pakistani American I have a right to lash out against something I believe is wrong, but that doesn't necessarily mean I should leave.

You can't change things for better if you just leave. If you ask me, leaving is the same thing as quitting. To me honor is staying and fighting for what you believe is right.

“I just hope Pakistan and America can get back to the kind of relationship where they should be … Friends as they have been in the past and partners as they should be in the future.”

I certainly hope so, Mr. Munter.

I have nothing but admiration for Cameron Munter. He is a very thoughtful person and a great representative of American people. Best of luck in your future endeavors, Mr. Munter.
