Everyone can see who really runs foreign and defense policy in Pakistan. Blaming the civilian government for problems with either is disingenuous.

Civilians have proven that they dont have the caliber to handle this. they always do blunders to give chance to military take over. Pro India Policy, UFA bludner are purely done by Nawaz Sharif and after that now Raheal sharif is on the visits of different countries to handle the damages done by NS

The Pakistan Army is so much better than any military under Saddam Hussein's rule. Their performance in both Iraqi wars were embarrasments. At least Pakistan Army would put up a fight and not surrender en masse.

Pakistan providing a nuclear umbrella for GCC? What are YOU smoking? Pakistan couldn't even be bothered to send some troops to Yemen but it's ready to provide a nuclear umbrella.

Think what you will of GCC, but they no longer trust Pakistan as they once did. In fact, Saudi Arabia will pursue its own nuclear weapons and not rely on any Pakistan nuclear umbrella.

I aint smoking anything, Pakistan was and still provides the GCC and especially Saudi Arabia with a nuclear umbrella. Its an open secret. There are like a bizillion articles than i can quote here. We helped them set up a facility in As-Sulayyi .We even helped them purchase Chinese DF-3. We already have thousand of troops and advisers in Tabuk and Taif.

We refused to send troops because our own Military is overstretched. From the unprovoked indian firing at LOC to the anti-terror ops in FATA. We did help them to enfore a blockade on Aden. Apart from the UAE, our relations remain cordial with most GCC countries. We are just about to sign a 15 billion dollar gas deal with Qatar.

And how will they pursue their own weapons ? Are you a 12 year old mate ? surely you must know that they have signed NPT. Where are they gonna get the technology from ? Germany ? which refused to sell them Leopards 2s on human rights records. US ? they will never let any country that borders Israel to acquire nukes.

America has a pretty good military umbrella over the GCC. Ask Saddam.
Without nukes Saddam's army would kick the *** of the Pakistani army

Declining population ? their growth rate is 0.2%. China's growth rate is 0.5 and US is 0.7 and Japan's is in the negative. Does it mean all those countries are in decline ? "falling technologically" what do you mean by that ? Please elaborate ?

Two wrongs do not make a right. If the military is to be trusted to run foreign and defense policy for the country, then let there by the proper legal Constitutional cover for their activities.

Setting up a "facility", helping Saudis buy Chinese missiles, and having troops in Saudi Arabia have nothing to do with a nuclear umbrella.

Are you telling me Pakistan will use its nuclear weapons to protect Saudi Arabia if it's attacked by a foreign power, including Iran and/or Israel?

And didn't Pakistan say that its nuclear weapons are only India-specific? And now you are telling me Pakistan is going to provide a nuclear umbrella to GCC? This big news, isn't it. Yet I don't see it reported anywhere. Please cite a source.

And, yes, Saudi Arabia is seriously thinking of purchasing nuclear weapons, to mainly offset Iran:

If you are being hit by B-52s in the desert for a month the Indian and Pakistani armies would look like Saddam's army. Saddam's top generals are yes men. But the middle level officers corps is not too different from Pakistani army's.

Yes i know what the term Nuclear Umbrella refers too.

Has Pakistan Officially declared its nuclear security pact with KSA ? No
Do we have an agreement ? Yes
This is evident by the fact that the Saudis heavily funded our nuclear program from the very beginning, even risking sanctions upon themselves. After the US/EU imposed sanctions on Pakistan , KSA only increased its assistance. Did they do that for free ? No , there are no free lunches in diplomacy. Then prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz was the only foreign dignitary who was allowed to tour the Kahuta labs. Even the PM doesnt have acess there. There is also the case of the unkown C-130 parked at Kamra airbase. Some speculate that it belongs to KSA and it will be used to deliver Nukes in case of an attack. There is a special 1 hour program on BBC about Pakistan and KSA nuclear cooperation. Check that out.

Its true that our Nuclear weapons are only for deference against India. But the security of KSA is crucial to us. There are more than 15 million pakistanis in GCC , bringing in the largest share of remittance. KSA also houses the two holiest sites for muslims. Pakistanis by very nature are religious and emotional. Any attack that proves existential for the state of KSA , will surely draw a response , if need be a nuclear response from us , there is no question about it.
