'Big mobsters' behind Mohammad Sikander incident: Chaudhry Nisar
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan while speaking about a statement from Sikander in the National Assembly on Monday said that big mobsters, including international officials, intelligence agencies and some links from Abu Dhabi were behind the Islamabad standoff, Express News reported.
However, he specifically made it clear that he did not mean that the Abu Dhabi government was linked to the incident.
While speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Nisar admitted that the Islamabad standoff had prolonged for too long, but defended himself by saying that he never had the time to provide Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to them.
The interior minister added that he had inquired about the security lapses during the incident and the agencies had given a ridiculous excuse. He added that according to the security agencies, the stun gun could only be used from a distance of 5-7 feet, and that an expert who knew how to use the gun properly was not available, he said.
Nisar also slammed Pakistan media officials standing around the scene during the Islamabad standoff, stating that the media showed irresponsible behaviour by not allowing security agencies to deal with the situation efficiently.
He said that the media should not have shown violent parts of Sikanders arrest.
