Take Thaco, that produces many foreign brands such as Mazda. It just installed the most modern assembly line in SE Asia with a capacity of 100,000 cars per year. Cheaper because we combine beautiful Japan technology (Kawasaki) with Vietnam high work ethic but cheap wages and 80 percent automation. But actually VN car industry is still at learning phase. Will take some more years until maturity then we will make millions of cars per year.

Nope, wages play a minimal role in auto production, it is more to do with supply chain and technology, etc. of which you have none. You only do the CKD which can not even be considered as auto industry rigorously. And to get a direct answer, just tell us how many cars you have sold globally and what are the prices? Don't talk about future plans, because they prove nothing.

You only do the CKD which can not even be considered as auto industry rigorously. And to get a direct answer, just tell us how many cars you have sold globally and what are the prices? Don't talk about future plans, because they prove nothing.

First, no worry, China is still the greatest. You make 100 millions cars while we hundreds thousands. That is the chance of the century: China can export technology and expertise to Vietnam to make money. Then we won’t need to buy from the Japanese. Second, wages surely play a role but ok you are right, in some industries maybe less.

As for exports, as far as I know, just few thousands cars and trucks are exported. There are estimations we need $650 billions for the infrastructure to get on par with S Korea. Why not loans Vietnam with 0.1 percent interest rate? You will create a huge fan base in Vietnam overnight.
