Indian cartoonists joined their brethren from around the world in an outpouring of anguished and biting solidarity with those gunned down at French weekly Charlie Hebdo.

They are reacting as they know best — by putting pen to paper.

PK was written and directed by Hindus and is very mild. These cartoons were created to bait Muslims. I am sure the new found freedom of expression and license to insult any religion may soon find Hindu god and goddesses subject to explore. Then we will see the freedom of press in India if they also reprint these cartoons.

What Muslims need to know is that the whole terrorism debate is about ''MEANS'', not the cause. If muslims protest peacefully against the cartoons, lobby the govt through politics to change laws, counter it through their own media campaign or even just ignore it, then that's just fine.

Someone brought up the topic of the movie PK. Some Hindus found it very offensive, a few dozen actually tried to take it down by force in 2 or 3 cities but failed. But the other side is it will be the most successful indian movie ever. And nobody is going to kill the makers. And not to mention, Indian media supported the freedom of expression in the movie too.

Going back to the means and ends - pls understand no matter what you cause is, supporting, justifying, funding, participating in violence against non-combatants is the whole problem of terrorism. You are fully free to pursue your cause in a civil manner and be a perfectly acceptable part of multicultural societies.
