What's new

For the Larger Navy U.S. Needs, American Shipping and Shipbuilding Must Be Revived

that is not possible and the americans know it.
They can't even compete with india , on a dollar to dollar basis.

Chinese economy is not just cheaper and efficient,
it is designed perfectly.
for example, to make a car, you need A, B, C , D and E.
you will get multiple factories in china, who can offer each one of the components that too on very flexible terms.

This cannot be matched elsewhere.

What do you mean? Tesla had almost none of their car parts sourced from China before they opened that Shanghai plant.

Elon Musk : China is Uncompetitive

Then why didn't Tesla buy more factories in US but instead in China? I know you are trying hard to avoid the point raise that US worker are lazy and ill efficient while cost even more to hire compare to China.

Be a man and admit it. You think by just acting ignorant , other readers wouldn't know the truth? :enjoy:

But it not gonna replace the mighty one in Shanghai. Shanghai production equal to more than 50% combine of all Tesla car.
I told you above they built that plant in Shanghai to get around China's 25% tariff.

Plus they did build another factory in the US. It's in Austin and making their one piece gigcasting Model Y's along with the Berlin factory...technology that even the Shanghai plant doesn't do.

The Nevada plant is being converted to make the Semis.

The main California plant builds all their car models including the S and X.

Plus that "mighty one" in Shanghai doesn't even build all the Tesla Models. It only makes Model 3's and Y's. They don't even make the Model S or X. They are behind the curve in tech now.

You are not explaining the fact why Shanghai export Tesla car. Don't tell me they export and reimport into China. You keep avoiding the point about mist Shanghai Tesla car arebfor export and not domestic sales. Keep avoiding and I will keep asking. :enjoy:

Why US not more US factories build for Tesla and export instead of China.

What do you mean? I told you Tesla's worldwide sales have jumped so crazily high they already hit the 900,000 mark by the 3rd quarter and they only have two factories in the World (California and Shanghai) fully ramped up. The Austin and Berlin factories just opened a few months ago and are not at full production.

So to fullfill orders in markets other than the US and China they have to divert production from the local markets. The California plant has to export Tesla Model 3, Y, X, and S while the Shanghai plant has to export Model 3 and Y.

You keep avoiding the point about mist Shanghai Tesla car are for export and not domestic sales.

No, in 2021 Tesla Shanghai built 484,130 vehicles and exported only 163,704 of them...33%. Saying the plant was built just for exports is simply not true.

This is confirmed with the China sales numbers
EVSalesChina2021.png

For China as of Jan-Dec 2021
Tesla Model Y: 169,547
Tesla Model 3: 150,879
Total: 320,426

For China as of Jan-Sept 2022:
Tesla Model Y: 219,405
Tesla Model 3: 99,944
Total 319,349

Your logic about why the Tesla Shanghai plant exists is faulty. It is mainly for the Chinese market.

However this year sales are going through the roof worldwide and has caught Tesla offguard with a shortage of capacity as Austin and Berlin have not been fully ramped up yet. Even the California Fremont plant has had to export more cars instead of handing them to the domestic market.

This is about warships. We aren't going to outsource that. Plus the US was never a big commercial shipbuilding country..other than during WW2.
I remember that the US Navy gave the order of FFG(X) frigate to Fincantieri of Italy.

Those are shipyards in the US.
