As if India don't produce foreign military hardware locally with TOT. Our Ordinance guys are regularly producing the required weapons locally and non have been rejected yet. So nothing to brag about that.



Obviously, because the design was done by some western genius and the rifles are all field tested and proven. Your ordinance factories are merely reproducing them, so there is no question of your army rejecting them back-to-back. LOL

Neither are our military hardware produced under license rejected by our army, got the point ??

The one rejected by IA was designed and developed under 6 months time period, so there is still room for improvement. Until about a year ago, the Army wanted a 5.56mm category of rifles, the same class as the INSAS. However, with changing threat perceptions and increasing terrorism and other factors, the doctrine has changed and they now require a 'shoot-to-kill' weapon, something that can kill and not just incapacitate enemies as earlier.

You should remember the story of The Tortoise and the Hare. How smart and fast the Hare may run, it is the Tortoise that won, likewise our perseverance will eventually pay off. How much the world may ridicule us, ultimately we will come up with some world class defense products, just wait and see.

Moreover, if you are not aware we have exported USD 300 Million worth military hardware in 2016 alone. Which is way too high than you can imagine about us.

Told you guys this is Future Indian Army standard issue rifle
IWI US released the sneak peak of the 7.62x51(.308) version of the Tavor...!!

IWI US division just posted the picture (below) of what loks like is the much anticipated Tavor .308 in their Facebook page.

The rifle looks interesting. It is like a hybrid between the SAR and X95. The handguard and mag well are reminiscent of an SAR. Even the bolt release is SAR styled. Yet the handguard appears to have MLOK slots. In front of the handguard is what looks like an adjustable gas block. The magazine release is similar to the X95. The rear of this new .308 Tavor looks odd with such a flat stock. As if it was chopped in photoshop. It is suspected the barrel to be 18″ giving the rifle a greater OAL and so it does not need the thicker buttpad that the SAR and X95 do to keep the OAL greater than 26. No word yet on price or when it will be available.

The Tavor in .308 was highly anticipated especially among the likes of Indians due to the Army's renewed demand for a 7.62x51 AR. It remains to be seen when IWI of Israel will start marketing the rifle. There were talks of developing a 7.62 NATO Tavor/X95 back in 2013. It was even hinted at the recent IWI-Punj Lloyd JV PLR that a 7.62x51mm variant of the Tavor was on the cards. As of now this seems to be a US civilian market rifle only.

And the comment had nothing to do with indias production.. rather it's about the advantage india had after its creation.

P.S; These aren't the only weapons.. we do produce other weapons under license though.
