with help from wiki :

Bandar Abbas has always been a port, and as such its various names have all addressed this function. The most common name over time (Gameroon) has traditionally been said to derive from Persiangümrük, customhouse (from Late Greek kommerkion, from Latin commercium, "commerce"), but is now speculated to be from Persian kamrūn, shrimp (which in Portuguese is camarão, similar to the former Portuguese name)

In the 1980s, the name "Gameron" was changed in favor of "Bandar Abbas", following similar movements with Iranian names (see Iran naming convention).

Bandar Abbas serves as a major shipping point for mostly imports, and has a long history of trade with India, particularly the port of Surat. Thousands of tourists visit the city and nearby islands including Qeshm and Hormuz every year.

Bandar Abbas was a small fishing port of about 17,000 people in 1955, prior to initial plans to develop it as a major harbor. By 2001, it had grown into a major city. It has a population of 450,000 (2011 estimate).

Bandar Abbas is situated on flat ground with an average altitude of 9 m (30 ft) above sea level. The nearest elevated areas are Mt. Geno, 17 km (11 mi) to the north, and Mt. Pooladi, 16 km (10 mi) to the northwest of the city. The closest river to Bandar Abbas is the River Shoor, which is rooted from Mt. Geno and pours into the Persian Gulf, 10 km (6 mi) east of the city. Also, south if the city, the island of Qeshm is present.

WTF are you talking about? What 'disruptions'? This is a deep-sea gas pipeline. Are you thinking that terrorists from Pakistan would dive deep under the sea to sabotage it? There seems to be a shortage of shrinks where you come from.

Now get a load of this, since your general knowledge is nothing much to write home about.....

Last August, state owned utility Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), which is keen on sourcing new gas supplies, signed an agreement with the New Delhi-based South Asia Gas Enterprise Pvt. Ltd (SAGE), aimed at building a 2,000-kilometer deep-sea gas pipeline from Qatar to Oman and then on to the Indian states of Gujarat or Maharashtra. The final price tag for such a project would almost certainly exceed $10 billion.

Here's the proposed undersea pipeline route in the Oman - India section followed by a graph showing depth and distance:

So, as you mentioned, how is this going to get 'disrupted' by Pak based terror groups?
Not by pakistan based terror , there is no such thing . Dont give a sh.t as where and from whom you get something . Good for india in driving a wedge between iran and pakistan, thats a political victory and a political failure on part of pakistan . Although ut would have been cheaper and more feasible for india and pakistan to get gas from land . Nwaz was thinking of getting electricity from india by investing in transmission lines , so by your reckoning beware of india !!. Dont blame the boogey man every time something goes wrong . India is a terrorist nation , you dont have to look far than modi. India has terrorised smaller nations and just recently was boasting about its terrorist activity in burma .so karma's a bitch when quiteva few nations have an axe to grind against the terrorist nation India
