An exceptional incident occurred when Israeli Air Force planes destroyed an anti-aircraft battery of the Syrian army that fired a missile at Israeli Air Force planes during routine operations in Lebanese territory.
The IDF Spokesman stated that the IAF fighter planes destroyed an SA-5 Syrian anti-aircraft battery 50km east of Damascus.The IDF Spokesman, Brig. Gen. Ronen Manlis, told military correspondents that the planes had fired bombs at the battery and that It was destroyed and all our aircraft returned safely to their bases.
"We see the Syrian regime as responsible," Manlis added, adding that "this is a provocation, apparently it is their fear of an Israeli attack, we will not allow provocations and cross red lines, and we will respond as we have now."
