ISLAMABAD: Pakistan demanded India to share with it the investigations into the tragedy regarding setting Samjhota Express on fire, Geo News reported Thursday.

Addressing a weekly press briefing at Foreign Office here, the FO spokesman Abdul Basit said India has always been marked with dichotomy of actions and words, adding India is ever obsessively intent on leveling accusations against Pakistan spy agency ISI.

The spokesman said India blamed Samjhota Express tragedy on the ISI; now, everybody knows that who is behind gutting the train.

He said India should shun the tendency of accusing ISI for all its problems, including Nexalite insurgency which is spread over a large number of Indian districts.

The spokesman stressed the US President Barack Obama’s India visit will help bring peace and stability to the region, adding the string of Pak-US negotiations regarding the cooperation in energy sector will continue.

The spokesman said the US was appreciative of Pakistan's energy requirements and hoped that the dialogue would continue.

“Pakistan wants a meaningful and result-oriented dialogue process and it will welcome if India moves beyond rhetoric and blame game, but there is nothing on the ground to inspire hope,” he said.

He said had this not been the case the two countries would surely have been able to normalize relations by settling bilateral disputes including Jammu and Kashmir.

The spokesman said, “Dialogue doesn't mean that we sit across the table and reiterate our respective positions.”

The spokesman also pointed out that India was killing innocent Kashmiris and hoped that New Delhi would bridge the gap between its words and deeds.

NEW DELHI: There is a breakthrough in the deadlocked investigation into the bombings on the Samjhauta Express and at the Jamia Masjid in New Delhi.

For the first time, there is an official admission by an investigating agency that these two were on the hitlist of Hindutva terrorists involved in Ajmer Sharif, Malegaon and the Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad.

The Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad’s 806-page chargesheet on the Ajmer blasts says the group behind these three targets had sinister plans to target the Samjhauta Express and the Jamia Masjid as well.

Over 60 Pakistanis died in the Samjhauta Express blast on February 19, 2007, while 13 people were wounded in the blasts inside the Jamia Masjid on April 14, 2006 — months after this group (according to the Rajasthan ATS) chose them as targets at a meeting chaired by Swami Asimanand in February 2006.

The five targets were apparently chosen at a marathon meeting in Gujarat by the group comprising Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Swami Asimanand, Ramji Kalsangre, Sandeep Dange and Sunil Joshi, the chargesheet says.

“From February 11 to 13 in 2006, Swami Asimanand organised a Shabri Kumbh at his Shabri Dham in Gujarat. All the hardline Hindu activists like Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, Sunil Joshi, Ramji Kalsangre, Lokesh Sharma and Sandeep Dange took part in the meeting and discussed avenging the terror attacks at the Akshardham temple in Gujarat in 2002 and other Hindu religious shrines. They drew up a list of five targets — Samjhauta Express, Mecca Masjid, Malegaon, Ajmer Sharif and Jamia Masjid,” it says.

A source said Lokesh Sharma, the man who did a recce of Ajmer Sharif, confirmed this meeting after his arrest. The bombs used in the Samjhauta Express are believed to have been assembled in Indore. But the suspected bomber, Sunil Joshi, was found mysteriously murdered in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh, on December 27, 2007.

News Desk adds: The Rajasthan anti-terrorist squad (ATS) has named a senior RSS leader in the charge-sheet in connection with the 2007 Ajmer blast in Rajasthan, a development that could have far-reaching ramifications. The RSS and the BJP, however, have trashed the development, saying it is a "political conspiracy" by the ruling dispensation.

According to the 806-page charge-sheet Indresh Kumar, the RSS leader, was present at a secret meeting, along with six other functionaries of the saffron outfit, at a Gujarati guest house in Jaipur on October 31, 2005.

Sources in the ATS, which filed the charge-sheet before an Ajmer court on Friday, said Indresh has not been made an accused in the case as further investigations are underway to ascertain whether he had any links with the blast.

The RSS described the charges as "far from the truth". RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said, "We reject the media reports that claim that the name of Indresh Kumar, a senior functionary from New Delhi, features in the Ajmer dargah blast chargesheet. His name has only been mentioned in the document in connection with holding a meeting." He said the reports would be challenged in court.

Echoing the views of the RSS, the BJP, while being dismissive of the reported charges against the RSS leader, said there was nothing "substantial" or "credible" against him. Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman said, "No organisation has been named. How can anyone say that the BJP or RSS is involved, or that this is saffron terror?"

On his part, Mr Kumar refuted any involvement in the blast. "It is a political conspiracy hatched against me," he said, adding that the investigating agencies have been misused. "The present government protects the traitors and wages a war against patriots. I will fight this injustice in court," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot claimed, "The truth has come out and the RSS should accept it. Later, the background of its leaders, whose names have appeared, and their links will come out. One should trust the judiciary ó that the truth will come out and those guilty will be punished."

Adding to the CM`s remarks, Rajasthan home minister Shanit Dhariwal told this newspaper that investigations into the terror incident are still on and whoever is found guilty would be prosecuted.

The five accused in the chargesheet include Devendra Gupta, allegedly linked to radical Hindu group Abhinav Bharat. They have been charged with murder and defiling a place of worship.

The chargesheet was filed by the ATS in the court of additional chief judicial magistrate Jagendra Kumar Jain in connection with the blast, which claimed three lives and injured 15 others.

Gupta and the other two accused in the case "Lokesh Sharma and Chander Shekhar Lave" are in judicial custody. The accused have been charged, among others, under IPC Sections 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (conspiracy) and 295 (injuring or defiling place of worship).

Two other accused, Sandeep Dange and Ramji Kalsangre, are absconding while another accused, Sunil Joshi, died during the course of the investigation, according to ATS officer Satyendra Singh who filed the chargesheet. The prosecution has cited 133 witnesses. The court has fixed October 26 for arguments in the case.

26/11 clearly had Pakistanis involved and Samjhota clearly had Indians...yet 26/11 had no Pakistani hand but samjhotha was perpetrated by the GoI?

Let me tell you by Indian standards, this was really quick and as long as the guilty get punished, I prefer a snail pace than to let the culprits go scott free. Don't tell me that Pakistan courts are more efficient than Indian courts.

As you are compassionate about the Pakistanis killed in the Samjhota bombing, we are compassionate about the Indians, Canadians, Americans, Europeans, Israelis and people of several other nationalities killed in the incident.

You know the greatest adversary to one's society is when the society turns a blind eye to injustice. The situation in Pakistan today is a classic example of the same attitude. Although some Pakistanis have realized it and trying to fix the damages, a majority continues to march in defiance.

Its been 2 years since 26/11. What has GOP done so far? Atleast India has recognized the culprits and now looking for firm evidence to put them behind bars. While in Pakistan people are still made to believe that 26/11 was staged, even though GOP has accepted that they were Pakistanis.

And the funny part is as per laws, culprits cannot be called culprits until proven guilty and are called suspects. The RSS members are only suspected and we cannot call them terrorists unless their total hand is proven in the court.

Surprising how Pakistani member are pointing at RSS so blatantly without any court announcement just because its a Hindu organization.

PakSher ji, cry all you may and shout all you may, still it doesn't reduced the blemish that's cast on your image. RSS as an agency has already agreed to cooperate with law through legal procedure and is not supporting those suspects. If you look at the press conference they called after the arrest of main suspects, the heads of the agency clearly said that it is upto law to prove them guilty.

We're slow agreed, but here in India all cases go through criminal procedure regardless of religion. This is what makes the world not pass comments or blacken our image while it doesn't happen so in your case.

Blaming RSS or Col. Purohit (who's yet to be proven guilty and is a suspect) or attempting at sabotaging Hindu community's image to cover your own country's follies won't do.
