Foreign Office Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria on Saturday night rejected Indian propaganda about skipping of Chinese President’s meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and clarified that PM Nawaz Sharif met with Chinese President twice at the sideline of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.

Earlier, Indian media propagated that Chinese President Xi Jinping skipped a customary meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Astana after the murder of two Chinese teachers in Balochistan.

Zakaria dubbed Indian propaganda baseless and clarified that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping twice at the sideline of SCO summit. Matters of mutual interests, bilateral, regional and international affairs came under discussion in the meeting, said the sources.

While talking about Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir, he said Pakistan will continue its support to Kashmiris in their movement for self-determination

BEIJING: In a rare snub to all-weather ally Pakistan, Chinese President Xi Jinpingskipped a customary meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the SCO summit in Astana after the murder of two Chinese teachers in Balochistan.

Sharif returned from Astana after attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation(SCO) summit on the sidelines of which he met Presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Russia.

Chinese state-run media highlighted Xi's meetings with Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Xi's unprecedented snub followed deep disappointment and grief among Chinese public over the slaying of the two Chinese citizens who were kidnapped last month from Quetta in Balochistan.

The two were brutally murdered reportedly by Islamic State (IS) militants. The news of their murders was made public ahead of the SCO summit held on June 8-9 in which India and Pakistan were admitted as members.

Yesterday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying explained that the murders were no way connected to the $50 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) which was opposed by the Baloch nationalists.

The CPEC is part of China's ambitious multi-billion Belt and Road intuitive (BRI).

"This incident will not have any necessary connection with the BRI," nor with the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, meeting being held in Astana, Hua had said.

China has deployed hundreds of Chinese workers to work for the CPEC which connectsGwadar port in Balochistan with China's Xinjiang through Azad Kashmir.

Hua said Pakistan pays great attention to the protection of Chinese citizens in the institutions there and made great efforts for their security.

"As per BRI we should be prepared for risks if want to go global. Since the three years after the BRI," she had said.

I do apologise by saying but your Mr. Sharif has nothing say at any international fora. What possibile vision, insights or diplomatic finesse can Mr. Sharif bring to the table...?????

We are talking about a Grand Game here... and when the occupation of the looters of Pak is to save their ill begotten wealth... I am sorry... only one interested in meeting Mr. Sharif will be Mr. Modi...that too becuase Mr. Sharif's services to india at the cost of Time Tested Friendship with China.

you forgot cpec. Remember, Nawas, the pro India PM, did not want to meet Xi, the pro India Chinse PM because the latter may ask for his money back from cpec. So what better way than to just hide and when Xi is not looking, make a dash to the airport.

Xi and Pakistani Prime Minister needs to meet in every occasion is indian propaganda yardstick; NOT a necessity. Chinese and Pakistani leaders just met few weeks back in Beijing for OBOR, where China and Pakistan agreed on potential $50+ billion investment.

This type of propaganda invention making indians famous worldwide for their low mentality. Perhaps, that is not bad at all.
