FO rejects Indian media reports over detention of some Pakistanis in Sri Lanka

I recall, but don't remember the source, whereby some SL minister said that all detained, for the purpose of investigation, are locals.

That was to days back I guess. It's still investigation under progress, so can't say exactly until any official statement is out.

Yes. But I think officially SL has not acknowledged, publicly, arrest or detention of any foreigner, in relation to this incidence. May be owing to diplomatic implications. In any case, I think that all the foreigners, who have overstayed their visas, would be under detention, for investigation.

Indias are obsessed with Pakistan...I think they are going cold Turkey and miss being ruled for the last millennia. I dont see them whining about Britain, France or Portugal.

A latest update for few Malayalam daily's say that non of the foreigners were actually arrested but questioned by the CID and then let off. Most of them are employees or associates of Mr. Mohamed Yusuf Ibrahim. The father of the alleged masterminds who owns some business in SL. :-)
