Flying Into Dhaka- First Impressions of Bangladesh

Lahore looks nice. A crowded city can be good. Look at Singapore


Agree that Singapore is the city which should be used as a benchmark, has added more green wooded areas in the city along with more high rise apts blocks. About 60% of the city is green wooded area...

Lahore is green and clean too , some areas are very green like Delhi planned areas, and has a proper garbage disposal system and solid waste management system.

honestly i won't judge bangladesh/dhaka based on some foreigners video . they never show the good parts of any south asian city , @Śakra being an indian you should know this . bangladesh is a developing country and its cities will be horribly congested , just like most indian cities . i don't see the point of this thread

Lawrence garden Lahore, old big trees....more than the buildings we need big, shady trees in cities and urban areas. PHA should go for native local trees and not decorative flower beds and small plants...

Some magnificent trees in Lahore fort area...more beautiful than any concrete sculpture, many more are needed.

Mall road Lahore. Lahore needs more wooded areas and trees instead of decorative shrubs and flowers...

Far too much decorative flowers in Lahore now and huge effort and income is spent to maintain it. They are seasonal plants and doesn't lasts more than 3-4 months. Trees are the answer, they provide oxygen, absorbs CO2, absorbs noise and air pollution, provide habitat for birds...flower beds don't.

So Trees are needed in large quantity in all the cities and urban areas.

Singapore is on a different level to most cities . Crowded can be good if you can manage all the problems that comes with a big population in a small space . That's not the case with Dhaka where it doesn't even have adequate infrastructure to deal with such population .

Density 29,069/km2 (75,290/sq mi)

I cannot Imagine what it will be like driving a car on the roads of Dhaka with such density .

Right, people need to abandon private cars and start using public transport...but Singapore did many other things as well, as this cannot be done in isolation. Like here...

True, they came here with some pre-conceived notion and go to the places which conform that notion.The vlogger guy admitted, he came to Dhaka only because it would cost him same plane fare like going directly from Bali to Romania.So he came here just to increase the number of country he could claim to traveled.So he was not willing to spent any money here or to explore more place,he rented a low quality hotel, used rickshaw and gone to areas where poor, labor class people live and work and left Dhaka in less than 48 hours.

I know these kind of personalities. They feel superiority over Bengalis or darker people. In reality, their people are no where better.
