Please learn some history of united Pakistan before writing posts like this.
The window of opportunity for BD to develop using Jute was in 1950s and 1960s
as the price of that commodity was high then. It collapsed in the mid 1960s due to
The widespread use of plastic bags.
After 1971, BD had to start from scratch as what little was developed before got destroyed
by the civil war.

PS - Currently BD GDP/capita is growing twice as fast as Pakistan, so there is proof what
an independent BD is capable of.

Dhaka is not much worse than Karachi. They are around the same in population.
Islamabad is much smaller and so cannot be compared.

Yes Dhaka has major issues but it is getting mass rail transport and plenty of elevated expressways
to slowly improve things.

Those loot fueled many project even after separation.One such project was Tarbela dam.Whose finance was secured during 1960s and completed after 1971.Bangladesh accepted half of pre-1971 foreign debt but Pakistan didn't gave any undivided asset as per stipulation.That means, half of the cost of Tarbela dam was bore by Bangladesh.In 1971,a group of economist calculated that West Pakistan looted 2,600 million pound starling during the period of 1947-1971 by various method from East Bengal.Now imagine the value of than 2,600 million pound in current exchange rate.Those looted money done a lot of work even after 1971.Showpiece Islamabad project was not escaped from that momentum either.

Islamabad by 1971 barely had couple of buildings and few roads, now is modern city of 2.5 million people. Tarbela dam was financed by WB and completed in 1967, what Bangladesh had anything to do with it? Do you really think WB asked their money back in few years? Come on now. Pakistan payed back cost of Tarbela dam.

Pakistan only give not take. Like giving shelter to millions of bengalis post 71 who send back money to their family in Bangladesh.
