The problem is because employee is not utilizing their time for productivity. If some one gets a government job, they think their future is safe and is very lazy to do things.. Only solution is make them accountable.. For eg: here in Kerala issuing of birth, death and many other certificates were an issue. Govt employees used to ask people to come next day for apprarently no reason. Now govt issued rule to provide certificates with in a certain period of time or otherwise will have to give the reason to supervisor.. Now getting a certificate from village is comparitavely easy than before.. But the issue is still there. I for one requested a resurvey of my fathers land 2 years ago and that is still in process..

Accountability and fear of punishment need to be there. And yes land surveys never happen. If you visit BBMP office in Bangalore, you feel like what on earth is this.

What they do to you if thou don't give ,money is that you move from one desk to other, one person to other. While moving 5 persons have been transfered, Eve time you sub,it the name copy and a fresh look will be bestowed each time. I know how much time qndnwhat not I have gone through to get my trade license done.

Politicians are to be blamed for this too. They are the fckers.

The Five great obstacles we face are

1) We are not enough partiotic (when not threatend)

2) We do not have eco system like US which attracts talent from all world and retains it.

3) We dont have complete faith in our own capability. Remember the maiden test of Agni 5. Many members were sure it will fail. That's just one example.

4) Baba Vakya Pramanam culture that prevails in India at large even now.Such atmosphere in our nation demoralize new ideas and turn once briliant student into a common Clerk/Officer. There is no wrong in respecting elders and their advcie, but we should use our own intellect too. Then we, in schools, end up copying each other's essays (Except the Present Company).

5) There is something wrong within us which leads us to believe we can not build anything which is world class and are victim of inferiortiy complex, which partly stems from our dislike of own colour. This complex is very old. There is reason why Krishna is dark skinned.

But gladly with rise of India, Chandrayaan1 and Mangalyan thats changing.

If we fix these five problems, we will rise like eagle and Shine like Surya Naryan.

Well first let me say something on your points:

1.) We are patriotic enough. Blindly following leaders or commenting "Modi = best PM in the world" wont get us anywhere. We need healthy pride, not braindead yes sayers and uber nationalists who cannot swallow criticism.

2.) We cant even keep our own talents in India...

3.) I would not take PDF members as example... fanboy opinion does not matter.

4.) True

5.) True

Now the things which are holding back India are:

-False priorities: May it be religion or other things... we care more about these things than health care, education, sanitation etc etc etc.... if people would give just 50% of their attention (which they usually give towards religion) to the actually important issues, our roads would not look like giant garbage dumbs, we would have less health problems, we would have better education... etc etc etc ( I could go one for pages like this (sadly))... all things which would also help booster our economy.
Apart from that, it means that religion also plays a significant role in politics.... and one look into the Indian politics section should tell anyone what kind of results this has.

- Interfering into personal matters of other people

- Forcing children to pursue the educational paths which their parents/society wants and not according to the interests of the children. This is a serious threat to innovation.

- An education system that teaches children to obey and study tons of material by hard, instead of teaching them to use their own brains.

Fisrt Bolded Part- Agreed.

Second Bolded Part- Agreed.

Third Bolded Part- Agreed.

BTW you have not commented on point number 5.

That is good.

The image doesn't make us more capable right? India today has not only highly capable doctors and a good medicial field (if you can afford it), but also the capabilities to develop very good meds at low costs. This is not an achievement of our image in the world, but a result of the work we put into education or science in these fields. That's why foreigners now come to India to get treatments or surgeries that are not only cheaper, but comparable with high western standards too. So even if we still have the image of a 3rd world country with all the poverty, there are fields wer we can stand out and rise.

Also even if these missions attracted more talent, the important thing is how we will use them with the best benefit for India in mind? Do we use them for another mission to Mars, or do we use them to improve the capabilities of our rockets for more commercial success, to get our own navigation system in equal or better quality than foreign once, to finally have a proper aviation industry that makes us less dependent on foreign imports?

The more solutions we find for the problems we have in India, the more we can rise as a nation. But pride alone doesn't solve these problems.

True, the push to improve bureaucracy of the PM is crucial, but worthless if he doesn't push the accountability too. It's not enough that they work, but they have to deliver results too!

The global Market of Satelight Laucnhing is enormos, worth 300 Billion Dollars. Antrix earns money for India by launching Foreign Sats. Thee amount is worth millions.

When GSLV Mk III gets operational, this amount will turn into billions.

We will be able to earn 10-15 Billion Dollars by launching foreign Sats.

And the youth which gets attarcted to ISRO due to Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan will be contributing massively in this.

Besides from Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan, we have got invaluable data, whcih will be very useful in future Deep Space Missions.

.
India's rise. Depends, will Modi make the right choice or the popular choice? They are rarely the same.

I just saw a documentary on Bangladesh, the working conditions are pretty life threatening, but through their taxes, their savings for their children, and the factory developing more skilled workers, Bangledesh is souring in growth.

The cancer village in China, probably real, and even if it isn't, I know for a fact a few other terrible things have existed in China, like Japan before us, and America, and Britain who started it all.

That's the price one pays for being on the bottom of the food chain, will Modi be willing to pay it? Hard to say, from all that I seen, he wants to develop "humanely," if he can do it, that's great for everyone, another pollution giant, isn't exactly what the world needs. Is it feasible? Hard to say.

We are aiming for a massive Increase in RE & Nuclear Energy in order to reduce pollution & i agree Hard decisions are needed at the moment & Modi will surely take them

For retaining talent, I believe we need to remove quota systems in important PSU's and govt agency's like DRDO, HAL, R&D divisions of PSU's such as SAIL, OIL and ONGC.
Moreover like the 1960's, govt agencies must able to recruit foreign students with good incentives. America is what it is cos of immigirants.

Exactly, so that should be the project we should be proud about, not only because it's a technical achievment but also because it get the country real benefits in return, than can be used for so many new projects that benefits the people in India! The Moon and Mars missions don't, so the simple project is far better for India, even if the pride factor is lower and that is the lesson we need to learn. Make it simple, focus on actual benefits for India and don't aim too high or on the pride to claim we have achieved something world class.

Kaveri - pride project to claim we are world class => if we had co-developed it with a foreign partner instead, or based on a foreign engine with minor Indian parts at first, the pride factor would had been less, but the risk of failure far lower!

LCA project with indigenous engine and radar - pride project to claim we are world class => if we had taken foreign off the shelf radar and engines instead, the pride factor would had been less, but the risk of delays far lower!

N-LCA - pride project to claim we are world class => if we had taken the Mig 29K and integrated indigenous radar, avionics, weapons and the Kaveri as soon as it is ready, the pride factor would had been less, but the navy would get a far more capable carrier fighter, with lower risks of delays!

All examples where pride slowed us down and where we could had achieved far more if we had done it with a more rational and simple attempt. The outcome would had got India far more too, not only for our forces, but also for exports.

There is no alternative to building things like fighter jets and turbofan on own, if you want to be self sufficient in field of Defense Equipment.

Sounds good idea.

Of course not, but make it in a rational and logical manner! It wasn't rational or logical to make LCA dependent on indigenous engine and radar developments. It wasn't rational or logical to reject Russian techs and support right away and dream about proper US support. It wasn't rational or logical to integrate HMS, LDP and bombs before the gun or A2A missiles when the fighter is meant to be an interceptor in the first place. It wasn't rational or logical develop N-LCA without any know how or experience whatsover, just to claim that you have develop a carrier fighter and now belong in a so called elite club...

We could have seveal LCA MK1s operational in IAF today, if we had taken the EL 2032 radar from Israel and a 90kN RD93MK with TVC from Russia, by making the project simpler and sticking to off the shelf techs and reliable partners. That would had made us far more self sufficient, because we wouldn't need MMRCA or additional MKIs now!

There are problems but i think you made a wrong list.My list would be:-

1.Regionalism/Casteism/Religion.
2.Corruption
3.Nepotism
4.Discipline
5.Selfishness

Not agree to even one point.

Not to offend, but every point seems like one big ridiculous assumption. lol :P
