Our current method of animal protein production while being highly efficient, is also highly irreplaceable at the moment. And yes, I agree that it is a necessary evil. You did not answer my "rant". As a fellow meat eater what is your idea of a sustainable model for meat production then? I fail to see your problem with animal farms. They may cause more defrostation than claiming land for crops but they are as necessary as building nuclear plants for power production. Don't nuclear plants produce a lot of nuclear waste?
Not just the forest clearing- but also the amounts of greenhouse gases that are produced in this process are extremely high.
The next 10-15 years could see a major shift in this field as corporations race towards producing test tube meat -which will most probably find a market in poorer countries. On paper- this could contribute towards solving the hunger problem by being affordable, while also being much more sustainable than traditional animal husbandry.
Besides this, and diet overhauls- there I see no end other sustainable alternatives in the near future.
Also please tell me where I insulted you sexually. I want to delete the insult. I'm sorry if any of my posts offended you at personal level.
