First Scorpene sub built in India ready, under test

Only Agosta 90Bs have AIP and they were fitted after the final build. I believe only the third and final boat was built with AIP from the start.

These are complex machines.......it takes time to evaluate systems. The AIP for scorpenes would be probably fitted when they come in for a refit



Gentlemen, here we have the Indian clone of Nishan and AzadPakistan.

The last 2 Subs will be fitted with DRDO's AIP & the remaining can fitted with AIP when they come for a refit

A good news indeed. So by next year we can expect Ins Arihant and Ins Kalvari( scorpene) to be in service along with Ins Sindhukirti( which will join fleet after a long refit in march 2015).

They were remodeling to ensure sub has dsi

Yes very slow indeed but good thing is that they will induct one submarine every 9 months after delivery of 1st submarine by end of next year.
