India China
Nice diplomatic words by MR…….
MR the most Pro-China president Sri Lanka ever had……..
After becoming president, MR visited China many times then any other country, under his leadership GOSL signed many deals with China then any other country.
India has been Sri Lanka’s largest trading partner for a considerable period of time and is most likely to retain the status quo in the foreseeable future.
Approximately 14% of Sri Lanka’s international trade was conducted with India in 2010. India ranks number one among Sri Lanka’s source of imports, representing 20% of Sri Lanka’s total imports, valued at US$ 2,546 million in 2010.
India enjoys a predominant position in the Sri Lankan market in respect of commodities such as pharmaceutical, heavy vehicles, light vehicles, motorcycles, textiles and consumer products such as cosmetics, onion, potatoes and chillies.
you seem upset about his words...

ufffffffffffff these bharti kids
Why Indians dislike Chinese so much? Have best relations with China...They are your neighbor..not USA/West . .
No......it's not a issue for me......
I can post his interview with PLA daily later….
The Sri Lankan government is planning to obtain a US$ 33 million credit facility from China to finance electrification of Sri Lanka's Eastern Province.
The Cabinet of ministers Wednesday approved a proposal forwarded by President Mahinda Rajapaksa to obtain the credit facility through the Export Import Bank of China.
The electrification project will provide electricity to 268 villages in the Trincomalee and Batticaloa Districts of the Province.
"The project is expected to serve the increasing needs of the people in rural areas in the Province and will enhance the economic potential in the area by increasing productivity, creating new employment opportunities and improving the living standards of the community," the government media unit said.
The Power and Energy Ministry is aiming to reach 100 percent electrification in the Province by 2012.

Why are you so upset?
Mate, the main concern to me is this kind of interviews by our president to media will affect the vote base of his party (I am supporter of ruling party, in the long term my business interests will be affected if the ruling party suffers setbacks in future elections)
To me without thinking the vote base, issuing this kind of statements not good.
Sri Lankan nationalists will never vote for a person if he is seen as friendlier to India.
LTTE terrorists in the past supported by India already did maximum damage to us….
There are many disabled people in Sri Lanka affected by bomb blasts, also many people killed by bomb blasts, there families will never vote for a party, if that party seen as friendlier to India.
Even recently Sri Lankan government donated three Wheelers to war heroes understanding the difficulties faced by them see the link - Sri Lanka News | Ministry of Defence - Sri Lanka
