First phase of LG polls in Punjab, Sindh on Oct 12

ISLAMABAD: Polling for first phase of Local Government elections in Punjab and Sindh would be held on October 12 this year.

According to the proposed election schedule, nomination papers would be filed with the Returning Officers from August 28 to September 1.
Scrutiny of nomination papers would be held from September 3 to September 8.
Last date for filing of appeals against decisions of the ROs is September 12, while decisions against appeals would be decided by September 17.
Last date for withdrawal of candidature is September 18 and final list of candidates would be published on September 19.
In Punjab, elections in the first phase would be held in districts of Lodhran, Vehari, Okara, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Toba Tek Sindh, Sargodha, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat, Rawalpindi and Attock.
Sindh districts where polls would be held in the first phase are Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Hyderabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Khairpur, Larkana, Shikarpur and Qamber Shahdadkot.
Election schedule for second and third phase would also be announced soon.

Yes by court, but from past seven years these courts ECP and Provincial governments were playing ping pong with LG elections, finely court wake up!!
