1971 happened when you were a twinkle in your dad's eyes, Pakistan doesn't have to fight a war 1000 miles distant at a 10 : 1 disadvantage, the real test came in 2002..... your army sat around for a whole year and then turned it's tail....Cold start....hot pursuits.... surgical strikes.....lols.....speak volumes of your credibility.

ISLAMABAD: The country pays a heavy price in terms of the economy, security and national resources to address the war on terror and emerging security challenges, according to the Economic Survey of Pakistan.
Losses sustained by the country due to the war on terrorism in the outgoing fiscal year stood at $6.7 billion losses – $3.3 billion or one-third less than the previous fiscal year, highlighting a gradual recovery.
The fiscal year 2013-14 was the third consecutive year when there was a reduction in losses over the preceding year as shown by the survey.
This year’s losses also pushed the total cost of the 13-year war above $102.5 billion, approximately two times more than the government’s proposed total budget of Rs3.9 trillion for fiscal year 2014-15.
The Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) government has added a chapter on impact of war in Afghanistan and ensuing terrorism on Pakistan’s economy.
The chapter briefly describes the direct and indirect losses that the country has sustained so far due to the war on terrorism, which began in 2001 after the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
The US embassy in Pakistan has long been opposing Pakistan’s decision to publish the cost of terrorism, according to officials privy to the discussions.
The cost has been worked out by an inter-ministerial committee, having representation of Ministries of Finance, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Commerce and Inter-Provincial Coordination.

What is the purpose of this thread? There is absolutely nothing to suggest that India or Indians have anything to do with the aid sanctioned by the US congress. The oppositions were also from the US congressman. A similar thread from an Indian would not only get deleted immediately but also result in an infraction. No wonder the quality of this forum has gone down in the last few years.
And you wouldn't spend even a single penny in welfare of the people and then you will try to compare your living standards with Indians.Very proud, Very Very Very proud, with the same Aid we are strong enough to be 1 out the 9 Nuclears powers in the world.
P.S. We are ahead of you!
Don't care for what some Swami writes to lift the Indian tails, here's more neutral assessment of the situation.Well let see :-
A) The incident was covered in some detail by Praveen Swami of the “The Hindu” newspaper. According to Swami, Pakistan occupied four sangarhs (improvised bunkers made of stone) and forward trenches that had been built by Indian troops over the years at Loonda Post which is in the Machhal (or Macchil) Sector. Reportedly unexpected whiteout conditions due to rain and fog provided cover to the Pakistani troops.
On 2nd August 2002 , a multi ship formation of Mirage-2000s from the 7 Sqn “Battleaxes” went airborne with precision guided munitions on board. Time on Target: 1315 hrs.
As many as 8-12 Mirage-2000s were involved in the mission, which was led by the CO 7 Squadron - Wg Cdr Rajesh Kumar with four arriving on the target. Wg Cdr Kumar dropped the first 1000 pound bomb followed by other aircraft. The air attack was defended against by SAMs.
Pakistan losses added to 28 deaths in the operation.
B) famous Atlantique_incident
Both are fought close to PAK, where where you PAF in both cases? and PA?
Casualties[edit]
The standoff inflicted heavy casualties. 789 Indian soldiers were killed, a majority of them as a result of mine laying operations.[2] Further, the total Indian casualties were 1874, which include soldiers killed or wounded[3]
Cost of standoff[edit]
The Indian cost for the buildup was216 billion (US$3.6 billion) being much greater than that of Pakistan's $1.4 billion.[26]
I like beef stake tooHoly cow on a cracker!!

And do you forget that PA shot down three IAF aircraft earlier during Kargil conflict besides since PA had occupied Kargil heights, what stopped the IAF or IA to launch attack on Pakistani side of the border. !!
Do you want some of your Former Chief Air Marshal words in this thread to get refreshed......rolleyes1:Don't care for what some Swami writes to lift the Indian tails, here's more neutral assessment of the situation.
''There are several conflicting explanations given for why India finally pulled back. Some observers have argued that the threat actually worked, for India did not see high level of terrorism again until 2008. Others argue that India having failed to scare Pakistan, gave up rather than go to a possibly nuclear war. In late 2002, BJP Government was politically weak, due to several internal factors. Operation Parakram was costing the government Rs. 3 crore a day, which it had to finance by raising taxes by 4%. Combined with the American threat of economic punishment, the standoff had grown unpopular among the business community.''
Albeit there was a lot of air activity but no attacks were carried out by any air force. The slow moving Atlantique was cowardly shot down by supersonic jets.
And do you forget that PA shot down three IAF aircraft earlier during Kargil conflict besides since PA had occupied Kargil heights, what stopped the IAF or IA to launch attack on Pakistani side of the border. !!
