Positive development

Alot of potential in Pakistan but I hope they are cheap because in Pakistan even those earning 1lac per month are finding it hard to afford a decent car because of the price factor.

to consume our own graduate in R&D in our increasing automotive sector or it will die or dependant.....
I think the way you structured the sentence is really confusing. But anyways for R&D in the automotive industry, the most important factor is the policy of the govt. IF the govt does not push for indigenisation, the automakers have no incentive for investing in R&D regardless of how many graduates in automotive engineering are produced in the country, there will be no job for them so they will eventually leave the country.

R&D is country specific... CNG, Fuel cell, Electric etc... plus small or big engines.. automotive sector is like aerodynamic sector.. just scale is different... it encompasses aerodynamics, metallurgy, electronics, controls, etc etc... growing in this sector is way important... automotive sector indirectly sustain 10 more industries e.g maintenance, spare parts, decoration etc etc the knowledge gained here can be spent in defence, locomotives, and many more industries... i dont have time or i can write a good page about it

Motor vehicles have been assembled in Pakistan for a long time. It is important to know what percentage is actually manufactured in Pakistan. Manufacture of the engine is essential if we are ever going to start making indigenous designed transport vehicles.

Right now it seems these are being assembled from CKD kits only and for RHD. But the good news is that it will be the only facility of Changan to cater for RHD market so a lot of them will be exported to other countries. However, govt should gradually push them for indigenisation.

Dear, cars are being assembled by Japanese automakers for more than 4-5 decades in the country but they never did indigenisation because there were no good policies and also they kept bribing the bureaucrats & politicians to get extensions ..so it never happened.

I know... manufacturing to some extent and assembly lines... like in Toyota internship... they said 'the setting on this machine has been done by japs so we dont touch it' My point is R&D... like supercharging a small engine.. creating high load engines and pistons... etc you know we have been making needles and ball pen since independence... but the steel was always imported.. even recently China succeeded making its own steel for ball pen.. http://fortune.com/2017/01/10/china-ballpoint-pens-steel-japan/

then there is range of small engines for light aircraft, drones etc etc and bikes... and generator and many more... then ther is combustion improvement for low emission... for fuel efficiency... for different fuel like CNG, bio diesel... methanol form sugarcane etc etc... and their blend.. so R&D can be done when there is investment.. like aerospace R&D is difficult bcz equipment is way expensive... a university can't make labs for automotive test beds, crash investigation, aerodynamics, etc.. only industry can collaborate... we haven't done any of it during these years in Toyota/Suzuki assembling...

Made or assembled?
Right question should be Assembled or CKD. if its first then its unlikely to have any local parts.
Even those Japanese brands have some local parts interior/plastic/small parts etc.
So many brands each brand with its own product line. I highly doubt we will see much indigenization.
