First deal of 2012 : Cabinet to approve basic trainer deal today

. .
^^^
There was no doubt about this deal. IAF is pushing very hard for this and they are right considering the basic trainers are grounded...
There's uncertainty on every other deal but other deals which are likely to be signed are :
IA :
1) M777 deal is very important for IA and they are now pressurizing MOD.
2) ATGM deal for Dhruv attack and vehicle based ATGM for which it is said that Spike is selected (if deal not signed yet then it will be)
3) NAMICA decision will be made either LnT version or PSU version or both.
4) May be this year it will be turn for 197 LUH deal.
5) There is a follow on order for MBRLs in the coming five year plan and because of delays in artillery procurement IA might sign this deal this year but its a long shot.

IN :
1) Minesweeper deal
2) May be 16 Medium chopper deal (10 ton).
3) Follow on prder for 4 P8i if its not signed in 2011.

IAF :
1) Basic trainer
2) follow on order for C130j if its not signed yet.
3) MMRCA
4) Heavy lift chopper deal is also getting momentum alongside M777 deal.
5) If money will be still left then Heavy attack chopper deal might also get signed.
6) If follow on order for 50 Mi17V5 is not signed then it might also get signed.

Yeah it appears that its on hold, before it MOD is gonna sanction heavy lift chopper and M777 because of IA's pressure for artillery procurement. IAF is not interested they are more concentrating on trainer and MMRCA and after that follow on order for C130j if its not signed yet.

Can someone tell us what the heck has happened to India's indigenous IJT? I thought it was to have been rolled out by 2010?

A correction to my previous post. The Pilatus deal hasn't been approved yet (it will be soon). Today's meeting only cleared a $950-mil deal for MBDA MICA missiles for the IAF's Mirage 2000 upgrade package.
