FIRST ASIAN LANDER TO MARS - DESTINATION : MARS !

Could you guys avoid the artist's impressions of the spacecrafts. Just post actual photos.
There is no way you can get an actual photo of the craft unless you have a micro sat camera to take a selfie which we did recently or you can take the prelaunch pic of the probe.

China's Tianwen-1 enters Mars parking orbit

China's Mars probe, Tianwen-1, successfully completed its third braking at 6:29 a.m. BJT and entered the parking orbit around Mars on Wednesday, according to the China National Space Administration (CNSA).

The probe will undertake scientific explorations in the orbit for three months while its cameras and spectrometers check the pre-selected landing site and the weather to prepare for landing.

The farthest point in the parking orbit is 59,000 kilometers from Mars and the nearest is 280 kilometers. It takes two Martian days for the probe to orbit around the Red Planet.

Tianwen-1 has traveled for 215 days since its launch on July 23, 2020. Presently, it is 212 million kilometers away from Earth.

Jia Yang, chief designer of the Tianwen No. 1 rover, introduced that Mars rover solar panels use surface engineering technology to remove dust. The key to this technology is super-lyophobic structure, the dust-proof glass and dust-proof film of automobiles around you are made based on this principle. Similar to the way that rain water droplets on lotus leaf can easily roll off in the wind. Earlier, the US Opportunity and Spirit rover had lost power because solar panels were covered by sand and dust, but later a Martian dust storm has became a blessing in disguise and blown off the dust. @空天追梦V

Not sure whether the sand and dust on mars is almost the same properties structure as on earth.

China releases images of Mars captured by Tianwen-1

China National Space Administration (CNSA) on Thursday released three high-definition images of Mars, two panchromatic images and one colored, captured by China's Mars probe, Tianwen-1.

The panchromatic images were taken by the high-resolution camera on the probe at a distance of about 330 to 350 kilometers from the surface of Mars.

With a resolution of about 0.7 meters, the camera captured clear small craters, ridges, dunes and other features on the surface of Mars. The largest crater is estimated to be about 620 meters in diameter.

The color image was taken by a medium-resolution camera and shows the north polar region of Mars.
