Just to a Noob question, why are you guys working your *** off to prove em otherwise, though you know that it is impossible and one way or the other they are gonna keep coming with the same DRDO bashing stuffs..Instead contribute something better guys..
Any sane person knows here for sure that, any country which attempts to build a weapon system from the scratch is bound to have delays and failures.. Especially for a country like India, the only one ready to share any Tech specs was Russia during the Late 80's.. We had a lot of delays that contribute to Unofficial Embargo shoved up on us by West and its allies.. Also we didn't have, much flexibility in terms of funding as well, as the whole GMDP project that started in late 80's was sanctioned not more than 100 Crores at the beginning.. And after all the above said challenges, we have achieved huge success and in the GMDP projects and then came up the request for a whole lot of new gadgets required by the Armed forces to be developed...
The whole world knows that Technological Dvelopement goes hand in hand with the high class infrastructure development and when the latter is not available, then the former can't be achieved..we had a whole lot of delays and yes we were made to accept some of the weapon systems (Like LCA, ARJUN, etc )developed in house which was not upto the levels of the world's best still can do its job effectively.. The reason why we were made to accept them is not to hide the fact but to learn the platforms of their operational capabilities and to build a much advanced version sooner.. Our defence forces had started to plan their strategies in accordance to the availability of these platforms in their arsenal.. Stationing of LCA Tejas in the Southern Indian city of Coimbatore (AFS sulur) is one such moves..The IAF have been flying these platforms for more than a year now in operational roles (Though FOC is not yet given) and they have standardised the SOPs, Logistic supply chains and Spares availability which is the most crucial part of operating a New fighter jet platform..
We do accept that what we got was not what we planned for (atleast not 100%, may be 85 - 90%) and there is no shame in it because of two things
1. We got a platform which can do the primary roles of a plane it was meant to replace far better better than the old ones (Mig 21s).so the gap can be quickly filled
2. We have learnt a lot in building these platforms from the scratch and we have built a lot of supporting infrastructures required to build a jet from the scratch, which will make the successors of these platforms(Mk1,Mk2, NLCA) even better and more optimised and far more capable and also give a very valuable experience to the country's defence institutions on how to build a fighter plane from the scratch.This is a huge leap in comparison to the funding it took..

It is upto the mindsets of the people who view it as a success or a failure and I can't comment on it any further than this..
Now in response to the acheivements of Pakistan's defence institutions as debated here, I can't say the same.
Their economy, their political leadership, educational systems, R& D Fundings were all different.They can neither afford such investments on R&D funding nor they had the political will to create something from the scratch..All they wanted was to match Indian capabilities somehow.. Here I refer to the famous quote from a late leader of pakistan(We would eat grass if it requires to create an Islamic Bomb) who said,soon after the Indians announced the detonation of their first atomic bomb. They have always derived inspirations to do things as a response or a counter of some kind to the Indian advancements.. And because of the same they had come up with few good systems in collaboration with DPRK, CHINA etc which are as effective as any other systems in the Asian continent at that time, which was good enough for them.. Recent inductions of JF17 is of the same strategy..It was menat to be a deterrence to what was known as the first Indian made plane..And I would say that, they hot what they wanted and JF17 right now is as good as our LCA is..

To compare the Indian R & D and Pakistan's R&D is beyond stupidity because both are totally diferent in terms of the very principles goes..But whether it is effective?? Yes pakis got what they wanted, and it is good enough for them with the current scenario goes.. The only difference is the development of allied infrastructures required to create a complex weapon systemand that is where indian R& D is ahead..and this gap will take us ahead leaps and bounds in the future not today..

Talking sense ? Claiming that the SAR on RISAT 1 was made in Russia ? seriously ?

We have already developed ground based AESA radars .But making an AESA for a fighter,comparable with the ones available globally is a whole new ball game.But work is on,anyway

And please learn about the importance of R&D in defence.I wouldn't criticize you-You guys expect the Chinese to do all the R&D for you.
