300 AK (probably 15 units) produced, 105 AK-1 (5 units) in production.

What I am aware of, HIT had to produce 21 MBTs by the end of 2013. However, delay in engine contract (for 110 engines) with Ukraine resulted in production going to as low as 2 AK-1 a year.

The normal for HIT is one unit a year. So, if things go well, AK-1 production will finish by the end of 2019.

HIT has capability to produce 50 AKs annually

That's one sick looken tank looks outstanding mashallah , great news congrats to PA.

Above pictures are Al Khalid not Al Khalid 1.
Al Khalid Skirts totally different plus the area near the gun where Al Khalid has removable ERA plates are different.
O pra .. there is no visual difference between the two.

btw cant we make a SPH guns based on alkhalid chassis?
we can try our luck with this project

.
isn't it a matter of great worry that we are lacking too much as far as number is concerned. India has 1000 t90s and for 300 al khalids its too much burden. I think and admit that we lag too much as far as conventional warfare scenario.
Airforce need new jets
navy need new subs
now army has 300 alkhalids only.......

You mean to say that the 2017 will see the production of third unit and so on..?

Since there is a new contract with Ukraine in place which includes tank engines (likely for AK-2, 1400 or 1500 hp) and tank related equipment, production may have already increased. But, no official figure is available.

We have not seen this capability since 2010. :disagree:

Due to financial contraints and engine supplies ... not industrial capacity.

Whatever the reason, it is PA which remains with Type 59 (or T-54/55) junks. There are hundreds (if not thousands) of them to replace with AK-1 / upgrade to AZ. :hitwall:

The first unit of Al-Khalid 1 was formed in early 2015 and includes small batch production (SBP) tanks.

Demonstration of Al-Khalid 1 MBT was witnessed by Gen. Raheel Sharif last year. The tank has additional armour (armour plates) on the sides of the turret.

If HIT or HMC do not have the guts or ability or will to produce formidable armour for these tanks then they better get this armor technology from Turkish altay which has reportedly same armour which is used on Korean K-9 tank

.
21 tanks coming up in new units could be divided as:

6 x AK-1 for A-Squadron equipping one troop (4 tanks) + HQ (2 tanks)
6 x AK-1 for B-Squadron equipping one troop (4 tanks) + HQ (2 tanks)
6 x AK-1 for C-Squadron equipping one troop (4 tanks) + HQ (2 tanks)

That's 18 Tanks.

Plus 3 tanks for Regimental HQ (CO,2IC etc)

Awesome method by PA for introducing new tank in every Armour Unit going in figure of 21.

I don't know why you guys are such a big fan of Altay. The damn things doesn't even have an engine. AK has been in service over a decade and a half. And what do you mean guts? This not a school yard fight between two kids where "guts" are needed. Guts don't picture into large scale engineering projects.
