Firing between Pak-Afghan forces at Torkham border

Well torkham is a passing and is located on the Durand line. Due to the porousness of the afghan border and after the APS attack Pakistan started the national action plan which stated that the afghan border must be regulated. The torkham border is amongst the points which are heavily frequented and no checks were placed before. So Pakistan started to build a gate on its side to make sure only those that had visa and passport and documentation can enter Pakistan like any normal nation.

We exchanged firing before as well and that resulted in escalation but it was toned down with us continuing the fencing. Now the gate is being built and they opened fire on us. We again had talks and a ceasefire was announced yesterday until we started to build the gate again and they fired upon us and the civilians nearby which has resulted in injuries.

As you can see the gate is on our side and we have every right to build this but the afghan army want to continue the porousness of the border.. Of course this is but the first step and we will continue to create border regulations wherever we can and create trenches, fences and gateways so that we may never have to witness the barbaric terrorism that emits from Afghanistan.

In accordance to international law we can build anything we want on our side and the gate is located on our side some meters behind the Durand line.

Currently the situation is going south with our tanks going over there. @shah1398 posted a video from PDF Facebook which showed our tank and three fired tank shells which means that we have brought them to action.

The gate will be made at all costs .. It must be made. Border regulation is our right.

I hope sense will prevail in the Afgani side....If not i'm sure that Pakistani army will make a quick work of them.

Border Gate is for the security in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Any disturbance is win for the terrorists, seems to be exactly what this Afghan government wants. Anyways, at the EOD lets capture more territory and build bigger gates.

You and I both know that the facts on the ground are pretty muddy and we don't know for a fact what started the Torkham episode.
ISPR will tell you that it was the Afghans while the Afghan NSC will tell it was the Pakistani side.The only thing we know is that there will be no winners at the end of the day and needs diplomatic solution.

If you are referring to aggression in general in that case anything the Afghan state deams against its territorial integrity or national interests is an aggression, be it from Pakistan, India, China or the US will be dealt with severely.

Pakistan has every right to build the gate, we cant allow terrorists from Afghanistan to roam around freely, who are hell bent in destabilizing Pakistan, its very clear by the actions of the Afghan government that they don't want this border gate to be built at any cost, if this border issue escalates any further it will be very bad for Afghanistan and will have long term consequences and as a result the poor people of Afghanistan will suffer.

So you were on the ground and saw this whole episode first hand, you are in UK relying on what ISPR is feeding you. Wake up! At least I am not following with the Afghan side is feeding me blindly be objective for a while, we don't know the details.

US presence is in our interest, they are our partners and thus we support her with open arms.Once the interests diverge then we will stand up to them the way we have stood up the British, the Russians and so on..

when we start gonna learn from our mistakes or from our experiences.india construct fence few hundred yards inside of its occupied area in kashmir.so why its impossible for india to construct fence right on LOC? because we not let it happen.yes Pak Afgh border is international border but gov in afgh is not different then india.so does indian let us construct gates from where they can see the gate or our gate is right in a range of gun fire just 35 yards.No way.it will never happen untill Pro Pak gov comes in Afgh.the right way to handle afghan border is handle it like india did in kashmir.Now its on Raheel and company to understand this reality today or after many years more

The Afghans have obviously either gone barking mad or are doing this on the orders of someone else (US, Nato, India etc..)

All this mess all those who are saying Pakistan army should bring fighters and heavy weapons who will be the bigger victim Soldiers or civilians
Now if Afghan keeps making these excuses and blame everything it won't help anyone
Pakistan is protecting its border every country has the right
But what will happen if they keep doing this it will create another enemy of Pakistan
I don't understand Afghani people they wanna live there do business there get all the benefits of other state and always try to harm it
It will give uncle Sam and India another excuse to bitch about Pakistan
