Financing Turkish ambitious Military Plans

Hello members. I see the lack of of scientists for revolutionary projects in Turkey. Without doubt we have genius and talented experts, but we need more and should cooperate with other brother nations who have a huge potential e.g. Pakistan, Kazakistan and others.

But I am much more worried about how we will finance our projects ?

Altay and other land platforms

LHD and follow on carriers

Only some mentioned !

Is it only a Turkish Dream or do we have hidden cards ? ( Sponsors, rich natural ressources.... )

When your govt. Took the initiative they surely think about the financing. Excited except TFX other program are not very ambitious. I hope rich Muslim countries would try to help Turkey achieving their goal leaving prejudice.

yea building national sub destroyers are ambitious but building a fighter aircraft from scratch seems more ambitious both in term of financial and technological . it will cost you nearly 25+ billion dollar depending how many you build .

Defense industry officials estimate that building eight prototypes for what will eventually become the Turkish national fighter would cost Ankara anywhere between $11 billion and $13 billion. And that’s for the prototypes only. The final Turkish order — if the entire program succeeded — would be nearly 200 aircraft. If the cost per aircraft is at $100 million, which is obviously too optimistic, the serial production would cost Turkey a minimum $20 billion, or $31 billion to $33 billion including prototype production, under a wonder scenario. Worse, this cost estimate does not include the engines for 200 aircraft. Defense industry experts say a more realistic budget for TFX should be around $70 billion, given Turkey’s technological constraints and most likely trials and errors during the process. But that’s not the entire fighter budget.

Turkey, whose present fighter fleet is made up of US-made aircraft, also plans to buy the F-35 as part of the Joint Strike Fighter program — also a next-generation fighter. The 100 F-35s Turkey intends to buy will cost anywhere between $16 billion and $20 billion, pushing up Turkey’s entire fighter bill to a figure standing between $47 billion and $90 billion.

This is an important topic, i think our state leaders and those responsible for the projects have dealt with the calculation before jumping to the projects. Most of the projects mentioned by OP are already under progressed phases like Altay, LHD and such. The financings won't be an issue, what's more interesting is the amount of R&D we gain from the developments. Indiginous tank systems, armor/material technology most importantly the long term plan in second batch of production is national engine of 1800 hp, and we are more than capable, since Turkey has already developed fully nationa engines for Ford Ecotorq 9,0, Sinan mentioned this on PDF once. https://defence.pk/threads/altay-mbt-program.211194/page-66#ixzz46CiGKMmq I think TUMOSAN got the tender for ALtay 1800hp engines, someone mentioned this once here

I believe that @monitor is not well informed about Turkish Military plans revised until 2030.

I hope that KSA will bypass a part of his 930 Billion USD deposited at US-Banks for the sake of a Muslim Partnership and wealth of our people.

Otherwise the USA will possibly FREEZE the money and accuse KSA for terror financing. The GAME began !

I hope from my heart that IRAN will also contribute for Peace and growth of the Muslim world.

No one want to destabilize Turkey . Turkey is alienate it from other countries it selves. Russia was not against Turkey at any time . Mr Putin was doing his drama in Syria tested his weapon showed the whole World Russia exists and for sure he made a deal with USA behind closed doors and is now out of the scene . Turkey was getting at civil nuclear deal from Russia which is now off the table .Now ask USA maybe they should give you a civil nuclear deal? or maybe France don't know how good your relations are with them . Second problem Mr Erdogan didnt had the courage to buy HQ -9 air defense system from China . Look the problem is Turkey is not able to identify its enemy ,your enemy was not Russia but USA and European union who are equip-ting Kurds so called Terrorists and they are doing terrorism and bringing unrest to Turkey .Other mayor concern is Turkey is relying too much on NATO , you should know one thing that the west will use you for there objectives and will dispose you off like a piece of tissue . Countries like Pakistan and Turkey have to stand in this world on there own . Never rely on west the best example is China they don't reply on the West and still they are more progressive in every field of life . Turkey has to learn it lesson just like Pakistan has learnt it lesson . I hope our situation will get better
