This seems complicated but we should remember that Pakistan's reasons in being interested in how Afghanistan situation develops are different to Turkey's and are different to China's or Iran's.

So it seems to me that Taliban does not want Turkey to advance its interests. Pakistan finally has more influence in Afghanistan with change in power. China just wants terrorists and separatist types to stay far away and will recognize and talk to whoever is in power to make sure this stays the case. MMME maybe thinks all those terrorist and various types of groups fighting from Libya to Afghanistan are all American puppets. Well some are American, some are independent, some are financed by Turkey and some by Iran, some surely by Israel and Saudi Arabia but it is hard to know who is really who.

It doesn't mean national interests changing puts each other into enemy status or whatever. It's just in this domain, there is disagreement between Pakistan and Turkey. We will need time to review those theories about Taliban and even if it becomes obvious, it may be more complicated than that. Taliban is going to take over power and almost complete power. Now is the time to talk with them and get things straight.

I really never understood the Turkish insistence on getting involved in Afghanistan. And then some of the Turkish members on here saying because the Taliban are Islamists/Salafists. Well in modern Turkish dictionary anyone who practices Islam, prays 5 times etc (Doing bare minimum) is an Islamist anyway you'll get what I'm saying when you hear some Kemalists froth at the mouth or some Left Wing Turkish tabloids. It was just a crappy move on part of the Turks and just outright too weird at the last minute. Didn't make sense at all.

Nothing to be arrogant about. Most Turks want nothing to do with Afghanistan. This is not our fight. We have other issues to deal with in our own backyard.
